lol, R-Mom, "gooey females"? I have to admit, I'm far from a gooey female!!! Too funny!!

Well, I have finally got around to starting Haunted Hotel: Eclipse and it definitely does not have the same eeriness as Haunted Hotel: Charles Dexter Ward.
In fact, I'm already a little bored with it!

When I first demo'd Eclipse, it played beautifully. Today, after downloading & installing, the game ran horrible. I had a huge lag issue. I checked Windows Update to see if there were any updates and there was one, a RealTek something or another. I can't remember if it was "Important" or "Optional" though.
I've set Adobe Flash Player to automatically update, because I don't turn my laptop off and I never remember to check for updates.
It seems to me, Elephant Games requirements are very picky, since their games may run one day and not the next. It also worries me...with them doing the next MCF, due out this month.
    Will I lag or not?

What a disappointment, djrum! And now that my computer's definitely showing signs of age, I'm experiencing sad quirks and lags too, for different reasons of course.

I too *loved* HH: CDW - everything about it. Heart  I expect it will be the crowning achievement in that series.

Well,   I am happy to say that I demoed  Blue     tealove    Crooked Man with the Crooked Cat  Black cat .

I like it. The storyline is interesting, a bit different, and of course I like their puzzles. Not going from one
HO to another is a plus, and I like my morphing objects.
JustTheFacts did a good job with the review....as usual. Two thumbs up

Its also $9.99 with code word CLASSIFIED. Okay

dj--I really was not overly enthralled with this last HH game. I would buy it eventually as a DD or maybe with a pcc.
I am just tired of "battling" with evil things that hang around waiting for me to do a bunch of nonsense until I can
    beat them.
Then when my "wonderful partner" comes in afterwards to tell me what to do while he had been staying outside
    the whole time.....Yeah right

HH: CDW was so much better. Of course, I am stating the obvious......but I don't mind, Silly face

I hope the lag you experienced wasen't because of your computer....that would not be good. Overreaction

I am glad I have games to keep me happy. Between the group play of AC' s And Then there Were None,
Otherworld: Shades of Fall , plus I bought Dark Canvas: Blood and Stone, now this
Crooked game I will definitely buy, it offsets my cranky game and "They need to use more imagination"
    rants.

With the second Myths of the World, I was just so disappointed. After the first one, which was so good because
it was different, this one had me thinking "Aren't there enough Myths in the world to make another interesting
game?". We've already done the Ice Queen game. Did they not know this?

The cold wet days are upon us, so I guess lots of game playing is in order. Yahoo!

Good morning, everybody! Big smile My lag issues are only with Elephant Games and it's happened with Surface: The Soaring City and HH: Eclipse. The weird thing is...none of their games would play when I had the lag. All my other games played fine.
So, me not being a computer whiz, thinks it has something to do with Elephant Games & making sure I have the latest Microsoft & Adobe Flash updates and also, crossing my fingers, holding my breath, all while chanting, "I hope the game works now."
It must work because I can play Eclipse with no lag, as of yesterday!

lol, R-Mom! My "old faithful" desktop gave up playing Elephant Games when Royal Detective: Lord of the Statues came out.
I swear, they're the only games we have trouble with, my desktop, my laptop & me.

Off to demo Crooked Man, just to make sure it plays. Big smile

Oh yes, I almost forgot, I love your emoticon association, luvtoread!

I just finished the Bonus of Otherworld: Shades of Fall I came across a scene that
had me saying "Are you kidding me?"
Apparently my character suffers a broken leg ( I'm assuming). Dr. Who ( which is who he
looks like--there is even a Post in the forum about it) says: "Your leg! Your hurt! Don't move.
Help me look for things to make a splint" Belly laugh

I really enjoyed this game. I hope the next one is just as good.

    dj---love these emoticons Heart

I have been dealing with a head cold all day today. Its just enough to keep me
on the couch with no energy to do more than play games, read, nap, cough
    and blow my nose.
So, off to play some more.

lol, luvtoread!! Some programmers should really look at the scene before adding text!!

I hope you are feeling better soon! Offering

Finally, I finished HH: Eclipse. I figured I'd better try & finish it before I had lag problems again. I hate to say it, but hopefully, this will conclude the HH series.
There was way too much back & forth for stupid things and the story was borderline boring. I used the transport map (heavily) in the bonus just so I wouldn't have to listen to the "spirit" cacophony, it was really getting on my nerves something fierce.
I didn't even bother with the Secret Room.

    Feel better, luv!

Djrum, I'm not surprised. Like I said CDW was the crowning achievement in the HH series.

I know we own these downloads, but sometimes I think: if they were all physical copies and we had to pull together a 'desert island' list to keep only the best, which games would make it? Like, picking the best game from each series we loved, or the top 5 (or whatever) from each category or genre. In my case anyway, so many would be easily chopped. There've been a LOT of filler games from BF, and quite a few I've gotten bored of while still playing, lol. Rolling Eyes

Ah, for the old days when our gaming eyes were first opened and everything was new and wonderful!

Oh gosh, I so agree with you, R-Mom! The developers finally get it right with CDW (IMO), in that they created a truly D&E game with a frightening storyline...and then they quit. Aw, heck!
I did read the original H.P. Lovecraft story and it was very scary!

What an interesting idea! For me, in a "series", there's only been a few that would make it. I mean, I like a lot of games, but rarely, do I ever love a sequel as much as the first game.
Then I have to think, there've been games where I've liked a sequel better than the first.

Also, there are times when I don't want the CE and will settle for the SE. How much of the story am I missing out on by not purchasing the CE?
Well, I reckon I'll never know, because I didn't get the CE. Silly face

I was at Walmart today and seen a huge cardboard display advertising the Big Fish Casino game. Man, I think BF is spending big bucks to promote this game because it just happens to be showing up everywhere.

lol, luvtoread!!! It kind of surprised me since I've never seen BFG advertise a game so much.

Oh, I remember getting little postcards in the mail every once in awhile promoting a game, and with the purchase of MCF: Escape From Ravenhearst, getting a MCF Detective badge.
I received a poster for MCF: Shadow Lake.

I'm a sucker for these "tokens" of appreciation and I love it!!

Hi everyone! I'm all mixed up because Thanksgiving is late this year!

Will the new MCF be out next week or the following week?
    Mixed-up minds need to know!!

I've been playing Nevertales. Wow, what a game!! I would love to meet the creative geniuses responsible for this delightful game! I will point out...there is never a dull moment!
The HO scenes vary from interactive lists, silhouettes, oh heck, I can't even think of all the variations.
We are given tasks that are not just time-fillers to prolong the game!! They actually make sense in the Hidden Object World of Gaming!
When I first demo'd this game, I was so impressed with the animation of the two "talking heads" hanging from the door...and it only gets better!
Yes, we do have a helper, but oh my gosh, he is so cute & he does NOT get on my nerves in any way! I happened to glance over at him after he retrieved an item for me...the poor thing was napping, he must've been plumb tuckered out!

Definitely, I highly recommend this game!!!

I am in the bonus, but I can't figure out something. I'm perplexed!! I'll get back to it & see if I can resolve this issue.

Oh, and I'd read about the new HE game... It's being developed by Eipix instead of BF!

Yes, it is, Genki!! That baby is so adorably cute!

When the announcement showed up for the HE game, it was actually from Eipix. But it stated that BF and the Smithsonian were partnering up...I thought it was weird because I didn't think BF was doing the HE series anymore. I know they didn't do the last one.
