I agree with your spoiler about the window.   Seemed drastic---even for ones like us
who will usually go for drastic.   Snicker

I am so glad to be able to switch to M3.   Beats looking for a HO till your eyeballs drop
    out.
I am waiting for a good rant from you regarding "Grandma".   Like the way

So this gem of a game is Beyond the Unknown, eh?  Sounds like I must DL the demo ... despite my better judgment.  You all -  da blame ... because I wouldn't knowingly try an ERS game.  They have a permanent  Big No No beside their name in my game index.

Why is it that every time I play an ERS game, I'm left scratching my head at the ending?  Dunno

Cuz they are obviously of some alien mind set  Laugh alien2 Much as I love them, I have the same problem with their "Extras". They always seem to be weird and off the mark!  Stars

In the meantime, anyone who likes the dark and eerie and hasn't already tried or bought it might want to check out Witchcraft: The Lotus Elixir at Big Fish. This link takes you to my updated review, but genki's already got the game details done.  Sunny

It is old fashioned, and different, and sometimes gross. And a bit too hard for me. But that's why I thought all here will probably like it!  Crazy

M'kay, here's the first of my thoughts upon finishing the main game.

    1. If I had only purchased the SE, I'd be pissed. Who was that crazy old coot anyway?
    2. Why is my character so wussy about
I guess I should spoiler this, though it won't really spoil anything:
    3. Sending Hot Grandpa the photos did absolutely nothing.
    4. Did I really wear the scarf and sunglasses for the entire game so Cantelli wouldn't recognize me from how much I look like dear, ditzy old grandma?
    5. Are the only buildings in town a Music Shoppe and Cantelli's Antique Shoppe?
    6. That must be one heck of a big island, with a Greek Amphitheater, a river, a wolf cave, a waterfall cave, a swamp, and an airplane/boat hangar with Octopus addition--- which, if it doesn't show up in the bonus section and explain why there's an octopus room, I'm going to be pissed off.
    7. Holy cow, someone needs to put the cats on the island on some diet Fancy Feast! That cat was the size of a Volkswagen!
    8. Cantelli is officially the dumbest game villain ever if that little pillow ruse worked on him.
    9. Speaking of fooling Cantelli, thanks hot-but-dumb grandma for letting me deal with the bad guy while you run away and save yourself. Remember who's picking out your retirement home when time gets back to normal!

And, in an attempt to be positive, here are some good things:

    1. The helper dog is cute, normal, and non-intrusive. I like him.
    2. The phone/camera makes a lot more sense than a paper journal.
    3. Um..............

Esme, I can't decide if I want to D/L the demo because I have a sick desire to see a train wreck, or if I want to steer very, very clear and leave the poor victims alone.

As much as I liked this game,   I have to agree with your assessment,  esme.

I knew you would comment on dear,  not-so-old Grandma   Two thumbs up

Also,   the ending???   What happened?   Huh?

It had me thinking of that movie with Harrison Ford   Heart   and Anne Heche,
    6 Days and 7 Nights.

Her on Xanax   "Attention KMart Shoppers"

    "Big Rock!!!!!  Big Rock!!!"

Later  "What the hell is a knot??"

Well,  time to check out the Bonus.....and JTF's  Elixer.

As far as ERS games go, it wasn't terrible. It was just silly. Sometimes I like silly/absurd.

Have you started the Bonus yet?

weird thing happening to me:   Every time I have clicked on the tech thingy that brings
up the maps and stuff......my game stops working.   Just shuts down.   Thank goodness
it didn't do that in the main game.
I no longer click on it.

Have you made the alarm clock?     If I was woken up like that with a clock,   it would
be pulverized!!   EEK!     (if I was still alive,   that is).

Regarding the game Witchy Elixir maker:    This makes me laugh:

Dear Witch Apprentice, are you ready to meet your fate? Because an uncanny adventure is near! You possess the ability to work magic through cooking. This means you are the only person capable of making the magical Lotus Elixir.

Have these people met me?  Huh?   I have never worked magic through cooking  Sigh
(Not sure what I did to myself,  but spent all night with  a bloated stomach and
it was not pretty sounds coming from me this morning!!).
I guess my homeworld is doomed.   Oops!

No, I had lunch plans with a friend today, so I haven't gotten to it.

Haven't made an alarm clock either. I didn't know I was supposed to be looking for clocks. I tend to not read the directions or do the interactive tutorial anymore. Oops!

I want to try the Tower of Souls game now! Rmom and DJ have both said it was a hoot. I want to play a hoot!!Dark & Eerie Games Thread - Page 21 34o917m

    lice    Suspect )

I get the story line is a prequel.    But

spoiler for those who have not played it,  if you are not buying it and don't care, or if your esme, you can read this:

Oh well.   Time to move on to the next game.    Still have Grey Matter to tackle.

Thought I'd put this where people will see it lol

On the subject of F2P re. the latest download=60% off deal.

For the first time EVER, Big Fish CS actually baulked at giving me a coupon! They ran through all the free/60% off game coupons I have got since beginning of June, and implied I should be happy with that.

Seeing I pointed out to them last time that as long as they don't put further conditions for qualifying on it, I will expect a coupon, they have no excuse, and I told them so! Belly laugh

I also attached, to save further nonsense, my copy of the sale. Feel free to copy the url for it.

So here is my spiel and evidence:

    Hi Jesse

I am aware of those coupons, thank you, and they are much appreciated. However, I was referring here to your Midnight Castle 14th July promotion (as attached). I did in fact download it on this day, but have not received my 60% coupon.

As I mentioned in my last email re. this promotion, I will keep on expecting this coupon as long as the rules apply. I am also aware that you are not following up on this promotion with others either, and they too have to write to you in order to get it. You used to be above such slimy tactics.

Sorry to see you slipping, you are really the best customer service team around.

    Cheers

    Charlotte

God I LOVE Big Fish  Belly laugh They really know the way to this girl's heart!!

My response from them re their 60% deal:

"My apologies for any miscommunication. It was definitely not my intention to imply that I wouldn't assist you with this issue. It had appeared that this was a previous issue which had been resolved and I'm sorry for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused.

I've gone ahead and issued you a coupon code for a $2.99 Collector's Edition.

This coupon will expire December 31, 2014.

I've also issued you a coupon code for a free game. You can use this for just about any game on our site, except Collector's Editions.

This coupon is easy to use and will never expire."

Never mind M. Dupin, or the team at Eipix, I want to marry these guys!!  Belly laugh

"Honey, you haven't bought me a diamond ring for over a month now..."

"Oh darling, I am so sorry! Here is one, plus a pair of earrings to match."

    Works for me!   Okay

AND I still get to play the F2P this was all about lol. (Cuz, if you don't mind playing the same HOPs about 50 (literally) times, and don't mind that you can only play for half an hour, followed by a break of half an hour, this is a pretty fun game lmao. Belly laugh

I am one of the few who hasn't had such amazing experiences with the BF customer service folks, but I'm so glad you did!

I seriously think I'm going to skip the bonus for the clock game. I just don't care about the old coot and his problems. Maybe if he'd been nicer to me on the island.... lol

Seriously, Esme, the Mansfield Reformatory looks like a really cool place to visit. I wouldn't want to do the ghostly tour, I think it would be too scary for me!

I'm playing the new HE & I am enjoying it, but not as much as I enjoyed the Smithsonian game. And I can't pinpoint why.  Hmm...

So I take it, Hot Grandpa is in the new ERS game? I'm not sure if I'll dish out the money for the CE, but I will check out the SE.

Good for you, JustTheFacts, that your problem with CS was resolved! I've seen the discounted specials for trying a F2P game, but I've never downloaded any of them. Not even Dupin's extremely handsome face is making me want to try it, well ok, maybe a little bit it is...  Wub
