    My, very quiet in here~!

You EAP fans will be happy to know that Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe's House of Usher is in the works~!  Teetat mentions it in his upcoming games section, but no screens as of yet.

I'm pretty disappointed to see that Magic Indie, who did the Brink of Consciousness games, only have iPad games showing in their Coming Soon section :(

Hi, Genki!  It's been Crazy!  Between trying to buy a home, being sick and traveling, not to mention just regular RL sanity I haven't had time to think!  Got lured back here trying to get feedback on "The Fog".  I've been frustrated by the lack of true D&E games lately; fairy tales are charming but only for so long.

Hope everyone is alright!  After being gone so long I was almost embarrassed to come back!

Hi there, jeanniemouse! It's good to see you back!  Big smile Hope things settle down a bit so you can stop in more often.  Hug
I was getting a little tired of fairytale games myself.

I finished The Fog and give it a  Okay based on the graphics alone! No collectibles, no achievements, no helpers, no "bling", yep, my kind of game.
And since I'm not in the mood for a fairytale, I'm replaying Weird Park 2 and got Gravely Silent queued up next (I had to un/reinstall it, so I'm sure I've lost the original "Fluffy")

    Hi everybody! flutter eyelashes

First of all, Jeannie, I'm going to be so bold as to speak for most everyone and say, you never need to be embarrassed to come back here. I don't get in here as much as I'd like, but I still pop in and annoy everyone when I can. It's just nice to see you back. :D

DJ  I got The Fog remembering well how you and others liked it. Still slowly wending my way through Fate's Carnival (and enjoying it very much, thank you) but will try The Fog next. I can't wait!

Hi, djrum!  The Fog is definitely a buy then.  I'm playing Whispered Secrets: Into the Beyond right now.  It's an ok game but definitely a Dark & Eerie lite.
Esme!!!  Thank you so much for your sweet comment.  I do like coming back here; just wish RL hadn't been so stressful lately.   D\\'oh! I played the latest MCF myself; I was the rare one who wasn't that thrilled with the first Madame Fate, but I do have to say I really like this one.  Elephant got the right touch of bleak abandoned darkness about it, while at the same time I loved having the kitty as a helper (one of their unique touches).

Dj, What are MagicIndie Softworks and Ipad Games?  Is it a company?

MagicIndie Softworks is the developer who brought us The Brink of Consciousness series (and other cool games) and I rate BoC: Dorian Gray Syndrome among my favorites.
I would hate to see this dev release games exclusively for iPads. The main reason is, I don't own an iPad and don't really want one.
I have enough electronic gadgets to keep up with.

Oh, geesh. I thought Mysterium: Lake Bliss was going to come out today. Instead, it's Botanica: Earthbound (at BFG).
Well, back to my D&E games.

I really disliked Madame Fate, Jeannie, but loved (am loving?) Fate's Carnival. I'm playing really slowly and trying to savor it.

I'm a dork and I'm proud! LOL  Two thumbs up

That is a shame about MagicIndie, DJ. Brink of Consciousness is a really, really good game.  Cry

I just finished playing  The Fog.   The storyline was definitely different.
Somebody definitely used their imagination for that.     Big smile
When I would read the journal,   it had things in there I didn't notice.   For instance,
toward the end it made reference to some guy who didn't make it out--yet I did
not see a dead body.    Huh?
I actually had to skip a couple of puzzles.  One was the door puzzle where the numbers
had to add up to 8.   There is a thread in the forum where someone else also could not
    get it cause the final #'s were 4, -4, 0, 0.
Then,  I became obsessive about the map.     Finally,  I kinda,  sorta,  figured it out.   Stars
I thought I had to go one way,  map showed me going in a different direction.
I kept telling myself to stop looking at the map.      Myself would not listen.     Rolling Eyes
The funny thing is there was area where the map indicated I had an activity to do.
Yet....I thought I had done it.  Even at the end it showed up as an activity.
I think that was a minor (thank goodness, very minor...no problem for me) glitch.   Sweat drop
I have to say this game really tests your brain and I found I just could not stop
    playing.
I do have to laugh at some things.    The body bag that had to be unzipped.   Considering
what I had to get through to open it......well,   you will have to play it to see what
    goodie is inside.    Laugh

@Hi Jeannie - Good to see you.       heart flowers

@luvtoread - I liked The Fog but had the same thing happen to me about the journal. Entries would show up in it that I 'never' saw.  I only knew they happened 'after' I read them in the journal instead of seeing them....drat!  I wonder if that happened to everyone because I sure missed quite a few important scenes.  There 'was' more than one patient (& you know me on body count). lol    Like you, I LOL at some things...I just couldn't help it (especially one scene)    Belly laugh     I got a kick out of the body bag also + another scene as well.  The game reminded me of 3 different games I  had played.  PM me if you like.  Love hearing from you anytime.

Wishing everyone a  MERRY CHRISTMAS    Tree Lights       YayPresents      Snowy bounce

OK: The Fog is a definite buy! Happy bounce
And I'm so glad I'm not the only one who didn't like the first Madame Fate.  But I really did like this one.  Elephant has done a great job in reviving the original "feel" of the MCF series.  It's close to on par with RTR (though nothing has matched my beloved Dire Grove...which I'm now getting an urge to replay AGAIN!)
And I'm so happy to see you all.  Luv, Butterly...hope everyone is alright.

    Hi Jeannie!  Clap

I didn't get The Fog yet but may pick it up with a PCC. I liked the demo but was very distracted that day so didn't really get into it. Still, a D&E *without* a fluffy naked critter to dress up is worth supporting, I'd say Snicker  so buy it I shall!

Super busy these past few days and this week will be crazy as well, but I hope everyone's doing great!   Big smile

In The Fog, I had to skip the same number puzzle, luvtoread. I couldn't make any sense out of it. I tried working it using numbers on parts of the row, then I tried using the whole row. The positives and negatives were confusing to me. Plus, I'm not good with math.
The map was useless. It kept showing one area with something to do. I positioned myself all around that area, but was unable to reach it. Eventually, I forgot about it and figured I was pretty much on my own.  Huh?

Having finished replaying Weird Park: Scary Tales (very good game, btw), I've decided to put Gravely Silent on hold and start Christmas Stories 2.
I'm so far behind in gift shopping. Typical me, I detest gift shopping. The crowded stores and walking around with not a clue in my head on what to get anybody are not my idea of fun times. I'd like some motivation to get all Christmasy.  Santa Dance

dj--you know what I finally figured out about that map? That you could be in the spot where
it showed activity, but the map made it look like you were in the next room. Rather than put the
! in the room, it would be positioned next to the room.
I drove myself nuts with that.
I have a beta  Happy bounce  Bridge to Another World.

I am going to play that tonight.

HA! Shopping for the grab bag done, thanks to a Groupon for a local restaurant.  Big smile
Still lots more shopping to go.  Cry

I demo'd Punished Talents and literally fell asleep. I was SO bored...though it was mostly to do with the 3 - count 'em, 3 - phrases our character kept repeating every damn time I clicked on something. Talk about a deal breaker! Gah!

I'm still holding off on playing Fate's Carnival. I'm saving it for my winter break next week.  Evil Grin

Hi, RM!  But I LIKE dressing up naked fluffy critters!   Mouse pbbt
Still, I'm in the mood for a really good D&E.  Fate's Carnival was close, but still had the irritating non-D&E carnival characters.

LMBO, jeanniemouse, about clothing the critters!  Laugh

Definitely, I know I need a truly D&E game! I'm waiting on Bad Omen to make a showing...um, whenever, Devs...yoohoo, waving at ya over here...I'm ready to play!

I reckon I've got about 2 (possibly 3) more shopping trips and stick a fork in me, I'm DONE! Well, I'll be done with that phase. Then, I will have to forage for ingredients to start baking.  Stars
