lol, JustTheFacts, you are right! It took me awhile to get the hang of the HO scenes.

Speaking of fireflies, I didn't see very many this summer and they are usually all over the place. I don't know if it was all the rain or the cooler temps we experienced...

I've never seen a firefly, they don't have them on the west coast that I know of.  California and Utah, specifically.

Besides, if Australia had fireflies, they'd probably be poisonous and radioactive.  ;)

Looks like there's also "The Babysitter" and "The Last Act".  I need to go find these NOW.  :P

I just rebought The Hookman since I'm on at least my second laptop since buying it originally and I just figured out how to download the game downloader from Amazon.  I don't know why I had so many problems with it, I guess my iobit was blocking it.  grrr  Anyway, I'm curious to see if I'll enjoy it as much as I did the first time.

There's probably poisonous radioactive steampunk dragonflies in the new Puppetshow.  Snicker

I quit going to the BF forums when they closed the CCC and I have never looked back. Justie's reviews here are more than sufficient for me and my promise to myself was to cut out some of the unnecessary drama in my life, and well, see ya BF!

I have only played The Babysitter one of the campfire games. I didn't love it, but it was creepy.

I'm replaying The Hookman and even though it doesn't have all the bells and whistles we've become used to, it's filled with tricky puzzles and really hard to find items.  No hidden object scenes, what you need is scattered around like it would be in real life and you have a limited amount of hints, in this case, snails that you find around the scenes.  Several jump scares that really did make me jump too. This is a real workout for my brain.

In case you didn't know, the hints are limited but you can exit and re-enter a scene indefinitely to pick up more snails (or whatever they are) as you need them. Every time you leave and re-enter, even immediately, there are more of them to pick up.

I noticed that but I've gotten so used to clicking the hint button in the newer games (because sometimes I'm just too lazy to use my brain) that I breeze through the 6 (?) hints available.  Another reason I'm enjoying this, I'm having to think a little more than I'm used to.  It's not rocket surgery but it's a little challenging.

I love fireflies. To me, it means summer is on its way here (after a long & brutal winter).

When I was a kid, we used to catch them & watch them light up in our hands. We'd let them go & catch another one. There would be a bunch of them in our backyards or fields, areas like that.
Never would see them during the day, only at night.

A beautiful sight & brings back childhood memories.

    ew...ew...ew...ew...yuck, blech!! barf

I was on FB and someone shared a video of a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup with bugs or worms (I couldn't really see on account of I need new glasses) in it.
It was so disgusting, I couldn't even watch the whole short video. barf

I will NEVER, EVER eat another Reese's Peanut Butter Cup as long as I live! EVER!!! barf

    That sounds disgusting. YUCK!

Good thing those are not one of my favorites.  Sweat drop

I started playing Cadenza: Music, Betrayal, and Death (Though my brain always calls it Credenza) and was pleasantly surprised. We are actually playing as an African-American character? Wow! The game is beautiful too. The music is really quite good for a game. The main character doesn't seem to have any creepy family secret to deal with and seems to actually care for her relatively normal, non-scientist father. Sure he's been weirdly frozen and needs to be rescued, but come on, it is still a HOPA.

I sure hope it can keep up the level of coolness. I'm actually looking forward to getting back to it today.

I think it measures up. Even the turns in the plot are somewhat unexpected! And certainly not seen by this little HOPA in any other game.

Cool?! Yeah, it's mega cool! Mouse Shades

Cadenza is definitely a top favorite.    I remembered we were discussing it awhile back and
that the jazz music is the same as in The Aristocats.   Black Kitty

    No purple/pink/dreary blue back ground!!

    Oh,  I started playing Lost Lands--aka  esme's  Chickenbutt Dwarves--and I used my
60%  coupon from BF that I got ages ago to get the CE.    I really do like it and I just
could not settle for the SE.

Justie and Luvto.... I don't know how I missed it when it came out, but I'm glad I've found it now. I get sick of some of the same old, same old... and this is different so far and from what I can tell, it's really well done.

It's nice to be excited about a game again.  Happy bounce

Happy bounce   I cannot sleep and the new MT game is out.    Dl'ing now.   So glad I do not have to
    go to work.

Gah!  I cannot believe it.  Barely into the game,  and completely stuck!!!

I used the bolt cutter on the gates,  got the broken lock,  found the three parts to fix the
lock......and nothing.   I know I have to put the lock back on the gate,   but nothing is happening
It just keeps coming up on the screen as if something needs to be done,   and I have click all
over,   but nothing is happening.   No other parts needed.
According to the SG,  I did everything.   Tantrum

I'm hoping someone in here plays and let me know if they got passed this.

I know I did a BETA on this.   Do not remember having any problem.

    UPDATE

I just went back in,  clicked on it.     It closed and now ready to use.

Why didn't it do that when I was clicking all over it before???  pfft

luvtoread, are you enjoying the game thus far?? I watched the video and it does look good!

I don't want to start another PC with it being the end of the month. Unless we get a two-fer sale this weekend. Otherwise, I'll wait until next month.

I think the second CE due out is the new Dana Knightstone game.

Yes,  I do like it.   I also am holding off and seeing what the weekend brings.
I may hold off for a 2 fer 1 sale.

I may be enjoying my time off.....but not enjoying the  lowering of finances.

I wonder if there is a  "will work for computer games"  emoticon?

If you find that emoticon, may I use it, too?

Hub's truck & my car have both needed repairs. Hub's truck is costing a small fortune & I still don't think it's totally fixed. Cry

Thank goodness for all the sales, but I'm very strict in limiting my game purchases.
