I think BFG has downsized, so I can understand about the response time and I'm okay with that.

Yes, I agree with you. I've never had a problem with BFG's CS and have always praised them for their courteous service.
That's one reason why I've stuck around!

It's a major point in their favour that is for sure. I am always that little bit more hesitant about buying elsewhere, as you never know what kind of reaction you are going to get if something goes wrong with the game.

Even Gamehouse, who I think are the next biggest casual game site, are absolutely appalling when it comes to service! I end up in a grim fight to the death with them every time I need to get something sorted out - and that happens far too damn often as well!!

Of the smaller outfits, I've had excellent CS from Legacy, where I believe it is just one guy doing it. But they handled my situation exactly as Big Fish would have. I wish they had more games more often, so I could support them more.

Yes, I've read about Gamehouse and their CS. Absolutely sucks from what I hear!

Me, I refuse to buy elsewhere. BFG is who I started with and I'm still a supporter (even with all the changes).
Unless they do something amazingly stupid, I'll continue with them.

I was really angry (and sad) when BF did away with CCC, but after seeing some of the forums erupt into juvenile name-calling and put-downs, I certainly can't blame them.
Since it doesn't affect my games & that's the main reason I'm there, then so be it.

I'm guessing you meant the opposite of what you wrote here Wink

I can tell you from experience that BF's customer service is absolutely top notch... as long as you're currently a game club member.  It's funny how differently they treated me once I was no longer a member! OH!

I started at Gamehouse, but the games and sales at Big Fish finally switched me. CS keeps me, despite the forums, which themselves continue to annoy the dickens out of me. If I didn't put my reviews there, I would never go. There seems to always be something unpleasant going on there.

Since genki first suggested I come here, I've had less and less tolerance for the juvenile behaviour over there. It was the only forum I'd known until here. The comparison on all sorts of levels is educational!

genki - I meant, I am never surprised by the type of people who complain about CS

I didn't know either, Genki. I've always been a member.

Here lately, it seems like the forums are erupting again, not to mention all the spam showing up in the older game's forums.
At one time, BF stressed the "family friendly" aspect of their site. They should really take a look at the spammed forums. Nasty!

Well, you know how they basically throw game codes at you whenever you have a problem?  When you are not a member, getting them to give you a replacement code for a game that's not working is like pulling teeth!

Hi kac - It's very nice to meet you.  I don't think we've met but have seen you post here.  I know the ladies talk about game 'addiction'.  I call it OCD for me. lol  I'm not about to tell you how many times I've played Ravenhearst & RTR..It's hard for even me to believe.  When I really love a game I play it until I have 'everything' in the game memorized though.     Embarrassed

@DJ - Good to see you!   Hug    I'll take your advise and get rid of 'all' the files, uninstall, redownload again & try it once more.  If that doesn't work I give up.   I emailed CS about this problem, told them I did 'not' want a free game or coupon, I 'loved' this game & just wanted to hear the ending.  It takes something away from the game to be so 'in' the game, then lose all audio right at the ending.  You know how I get into games I 'really' love.    Wub    The vampire game Kislova?  IS a great game.  (Sorry, but I can't see who you were discussing the game with or would acknowledge them).  It's the best vampire game I've played so far & is very believable.  I told DD about it, she wants it, so I advised her to get the CE also.  I was surprised I liked Myths of the World:  Of Fiends and Fairies as much as I did.  I thought it was very interesting and a very good game.  I also loved Tales of Terror:  House on the Hill.  Loved it had 'live' actors & thought it was a very well done game (even though you could spot the 'baddie' right off the bat).  Not even mentioning the 'werewolf' games, you know I'm a sucker for any werewolf game.      Happy bounce

Hi to everyone...wishing everyone a great day and Happy Gaming.     Sunny

I think it is so interesting the different ways we all "game" our games. I'm a "one and done" player. I can count on one hand the number of games I have replayed. DG, RTR, SULPWDOtLoP ( aka Twisted Lands because I got sucked into a group play) annnnnnnnnnnnnd.... Vanishing Hitchhiker.

Others of you play and replay them and find happiness that way. That is so cool!

Are any of you also "One and Done" players like me?

    Nice to meet you butterflyshrimp.

I have to admit that I'm a "one and done" in a lot of different aspects of my life.  I don't watch television reruns, very seldom watch a movie more than once and don't read a book a second time.  Part of the reason is that I am still working, so I don't have a whole lot of free time.  The other reason is that there are so, so many books, movies, games, etc. out there and I just want to experience as many as I can.

    It is interesting, Esme!

I don't reread books. With movies, I guess it depends on which movie and how long it's been since I watched it the first time. And then, sometimes, I only catch bits & pieces of a movie, so I'll try and watch the whole thing eventually.

Now, a good game, I don't mind replaying. In fact, I'll replay a favorite game if I've just got through playing a crappy game or one I deem crappy.

Butterfly, I hope something works for your missing sound. Thanks for your input on Tales of Terror. I've been debating this game for awhile. You should post in here more often, we usually like the same games!

I'm off to try Panopticon: Path of Reflections. I've read it has a carnival setting.  Happy bounce

I'm playing Haunted Hotel: Ancient Bane.... The title alone makes me laugh. It's predictably cheesey and slightly funny. Not scary or eerie, but apparently those types of games don't exist anymore.

I always am amused in this type of game where I am a "partner" with one of the characters and am "helping" to solve the dastardly machinations of something-or-other. Then my "partner" proceeds to stand there while I do stupid things like look for the keys to HIS trunk while he contemplates belly button lint or some other equally fascinating and deep subject. Meanwhile I'm thinking, "Look dumb@$$, it's your trunk, where did you put your keys Mr. Oh-So-Brilliant?"

Again... if it was real life, I'd say something clever like "Find your own stupid keys. You had them last!"

I'm mostly 'one & done' but some I'll replay from time to time; I recently pulled out Tiny Bang Story for old times' sake.  Wub Big smile

I'll occasionally replay games that seemed unique or especially original to me, but the vast majority of HOPAs don't lure me into 2nd plays since even if they're enjoyable they're usually just variations of the same theme. Now, Dire Grove and RTR were the very first HOPAs I played so they were original to me and therefore especially fresh and wonderfully-themed (besides being great games)! I think I'll replay them soon.  Smile

    LMAO, Esme!  Belly laugh

DH is always asking me where HIS tools are (I have my own tools)! He asks me where stuff is in the fridge or freezer (he can't seem to move things to find food items in the fridge or freezer).
Every single day, he asks me where something is!  Rolling Eyes

So, I guess I'm used to these can't-find-anything detectives.

Same thing happens at my house. I swear that he can't see things that are right in front of his face when he opens the fridge!  I've stopped telling him where his tools are and generally make the snappy "Gee, I didn't know it was my turn to watch YOUR tools!" or "Gee, I didn't have it last, did you?"

I also stash away some tools that I need and use and don't tell him where they are or he'd snatch those up too!

Here's my gripe for the game so far... my detective "pal" handed me some GLUE! That mofo knows I'm running around doing the dog's work and putting together all the broken crap that he's too lazy to deal with.... and gives me GLUE so he can stand there and wait to be kidnapped by the possessed crazy dude and the dude in the cloak. Is he flippin' kidding me????

I'm going to glue his stupid butt to the boat and send his useless self back home!

lol, Esme! I've got HH: Ancient Bane, but haven't played it.

I'm playing Off the Record: The Italian Affair which, btw, is not a bad game. The scenery is beautiful.
So, I get to a thorny rosebush and the black box text says, "Every rose has its thorn" and I thought,

"Rock on with your bad selves, Eipix!" WTG!!  Two thumbs up

esme----is he the same moron,   James,  I think his name is,  from the last one????
In the game,   "I"   am gushing over how lucky "I"  am to have him  as my partner.  pfft

I felt the same way as you.    On that basis alone,  I will not get the game.   The last
one annoyed me so much,  I refused to get it.
Especially since the "demons"  were so polite to stand on the steps and wait for me to
do useless nonsense until I could find the one stupid thing that would destroy them,
while my "wonderful" partner stayed outside!!!  meh

I really was hoping they would continue with the HH: Charles Dexter Ward,
that would have been so much better.

Hi,  BFS.   I have replayed a few games---Dire Grove,  RTR.   But not all.  depends
    on my mood,  I guess.
Right now I have quite a few unplayed,   so won't be returning to any already played
    anytime soon.

    I've figured it out.

These games are like being married.

I say things like "Gee, if you don't watch out, Thing X is going to happen." And like my husband, he ignores me, and then miraculously, Thing X happens.  Then I have to bail out his stupid butt from whatever mess I've already warned him about.

    For example:

Spoiler-ish but not really if you've played more than one HOPA in your life:

And while all those shenanigans are going on, I'm running around finding stuff and cleaning stuff and fixing stuff... while he's out being clueless. Poke with a stick

But, we keep rescuing them because they're cute and we're nice.  Wink

    Doh!
