I went running for the hills. It was that bad. Overreaction

Something about a Death Book or Library or something. Not the one with the idiots that got stuck in Romeo and Juliet, but a different Death Book/Page/Library/Reading Nook...  Forgotten Books: The Enchanted Crown.

I should have known better. It's an ERS game and they are my arch-enemies for sure.

I think they should let me name these games. I'd have gone with Bloodbath at Barnes and Noble: The Killer Papercut or something like that. That is a game I'd want to play!

Oh, I know which game you guys are talking about, though I didn't demo it.

I got Lost Souls: Enchanted Books (since we're referring to book games!) and liked it quite well.

Esme, I think you should start naming games! Your titles are much more interesting!  Laugh

lol, JustTheFacts! I agree! I did buy the new Myths, but I haven't played it yet. When it comes to an Eipix game, it's almost an automatic buy for me without demo'ing first.
And I know not to do that because I have to make sure it'll play on my computer.

I am such a huge fan of Eipix's and Mad Head's hidden object scenes. Everyone knows I'm crazy about HO scenes.
These 2 developers have created an interesting & innovative approach to the traditional interactive HOS and totally put the fun back into playing them.
    I love it!!!

dj, how wonderful! I am not alone! Hug

I am mad about HO scenes as well! I am still basically a HOG player, even though I get too bored with the iHOGs without a decent story and some adventure efforts. I am hopeless at puzzles, so if the game doesn't have good HOPs, I'm outa luck! Huh?

And it is the main reason I love Eipix and Mad Head too!! That and the team from Eipix always popping up in unexpected places lmbo! Am getting a crush on the whole crew!

Yes, I love HO scenes. That's why when somebody posts "too many HO scenes" in a game, I know I'll probably like it!  Laugh

I'm not a fan of HO scenes.  I've been gaming for a number of years and was around when HOs started.  I would buy them with my RealArcarde (now Gamehouse) credit and work on them a little bit until the next month when I would move on to another one.  When the IHOGs came out was when I actually started finishing games.  Of course now I mostly play action/adventure and RPG games with 4 consoles hooked up to my TV.

I used to love HO scenes, but have sort of lost interest in them over the years. To be fair, there is not that much that you can really do to mix it up and make it different. Though I must say looking for the same crap day after day after day...  yeah, that gets a little old.

Ugh... I don't know what to play next and I'm being all wussy about it.

I wish there was something out right now that really grabbed my attention.

I feel like a game slump is starting for me. Anyone else ever had a game slump? If so, how long did it last? I've had them before and it can last for several weeks if not more.

For sure, Esme! I get in a game funk about every other month, sometimes more often than that.

The longest one lasted for a month and it takes a really good game to get me out of my game funk.

I've got a beta sitting in my email and I think the game's about kings & queens. Shrouded Mysteries something or another is the title. According to Time Warner, we're experiencing mail difficulties, so I can't even beta it right now.  meh

I am playing Rite of Passage: Hide and Seek and it's wonderful!

My game slumps tend to last only a few days at a time - I switch to reading and usually only need to get through 2 or 3 books to be interested in a beta or something again (and I am way behind on that, may come back to you djrum on the beta you've got if I can't find another link for it) and that usually starts me off again.

In terms of HOPAs, I've been more off than on about them for over a month, which is not good from my point of view - I don't feel useful unless I'm reviewing them, and lately I've been feeling VERY useless lol.

Post by Butterflyshrimp Tue Jun 17, 2014 8:54 pm

Hi everyone.  I'm back with another question.  I have Bridge to Another World:  Burnt Dreams.  Its in my top 10 (LOVE the game).  It runs beautifully except at the ending of the 'main' game.  I lose 'all' audio.  The audio comes back fine in the Bonus Chapter.  I've uninstalled & reinstalled it at least 4 times & played it at least 10 + times every way I could think of to try to get the audio back for the ending of the main game but nothing has worked.  I just finished it again & I lost audio at the exact same place again...ever time I've played it.  When I uninstalled & reinstalled it, I forgot to delete the other files (Main game, Shortcut, etc), where I'd downloaded it the first time, so I don't know if I'm downloading the same game as I did when I first bought it.  Should I have deleted ALL the files on this game before uninstalling & reinstalling?  I have it on the external also, but if I 'ever' get audio, I can fix that easy.  I'm just trying to figure out how to get audio for the ending of the main game.  (BF is no help..they know about it & want everyone to do a Dr. Felix (as usual).  Other than that, I haven't had one single problem with this game.  Does anyone here with a 'lot' more experience than I have know what I should do.  Did any of you have this problem with this game.  I read the tech thread at BF & there are only 2 pages of people who had this same problem (at the same place), so I'm pretty sure the devs & BF "won't" be doing a fix on it.  Thought I'd ask the experts here what your advise is and I truly appreciate any suggestions anyone has.

@Hi Lovetoread - Its so good to see you again.  Thank you for asking about me.  That's very thoughtful of you.  Miss you!

@DJ - I played Rite of Passage:  Hide and Seek and loved it too.  I think its a great game.  It seems like its always 'feast or famine' when it comes to D&E games.      Rolling Eyes

Hope everyone is doing well and has a good evening/night/day (where ever your located).  Thanks again.     Offering

I don't know how to fix your problem, butterflyshrimp, but I am amazed you've played the game 10 times.  I am a "once and done" type person.  And if true be told, more a "start and never finish" type person!

With so many reviews it is my ambition to complete on games I own, I tend to be a one-time only player now too! But I wasn't, and wouldn't be for choice. I love playing my favourite games several times.

I have played the earlier Edgar Allan Poe games many times each. And the Christmas Stories games. And loved replaying the Agency of Anomalies series a couple of times.

Will certainly be playing Smithsonian Diamond again!

Vampire Legends: Kisilova (not sure on the title, CRS!) was another game I wished I would've got the CE. I liked it a lot!
I'm glad to hear Vampire Legends 2 is a true D&E game, JustTheFacts! I'll look forward to seeing its release & I'll make sure to get the CE (if offered).

Hi Butterfly! You already know I'm not a techie type & it sounds to me like you've done everything possible for the missing audio files.
I would definitely delete all the old game files & reinstall. If it still won't work, maybe try and run it in Administrator Mode. I've had to run games in Administrator Mode before because of having no audio at all. This may not work for you though, since you're only losing audio in a portion of the game.

I replay my favorite games all the time! Since I CRS, it's a brand new game when I play again. I stick all my favorites in a folder and I do wait awhile before replaying.
I think I've played MCF: Madame Fate and MCF: Return to Ravenhearst the most often. And Hidden Expeditions: The Smithsonian Diamond is due for a replay...soon!

dj, the Kisilova extras were great! Worth an upgrade in my book! There are interviews with the people whose ancestors were actually there at the time of the reports - and the family of the vampire still lives in the town!!!  OH! faints  Lots of film of the town and area. LOOKS like there should be something creepy!

It just made the whole game that much more thrilling, to see the real life version of it in all its bleakness, both modern soviet and archaic gothic or whatever time period it was... made me understand the meaning of the words frisson of fear. That town creeped me out big time!

Also interviews with experts about the historical stuff, and the origin of the myths. Cool.

Oh wow, JustTheFacts, I didn't know all that was included with the CE and it looks like I missed a lot by getting the SE. I knew the game was loosely based on a true story.
Thanks for telling me & I just may upgrade when we get another CE sale.

Is it very difficult to get in touch with CS at BFG? Do we have to go through Facebook to get ahold of them?
    I don't know anymore.  Dunno

No. Dead easy. And you can actually "upgrade".

If you buy the CE at full price, and send an email to CS - any previous email to CS will still get them, or the usual "contact us" in the help section. They will send you a game credit for the SE, regardless of how much you paid for it. So if you got that one on sale, you effectively get the CE on sale.  Big smile

I do it occasionally for really special games. This I knew I'd love from the moment I saw it, so was one of the very rare CEs I bought back then! Love love love !!!  Happy bounce

Oh yes, I have upgraded um...quite a few games. Stupid me should've got the CE in the first place!
And I always send BFG's CS an email so they can send me a GC for the SE I'd already purchased.

It really is a super-easy process & they are always super-nice in giving me a GC even if I bought the game in a sale.
I upgraded one game & CS let me keep the SE & gave me a GC! (Though why I would want to play the SE again, I don't have a clue)  Huh?
But I do appreciate them & hope they still are as nice as they used to be.

They are, just working under greater pressure than before, so the response time isn't as good as it was. But they're still very much as they always were. Generous, friendly, responsive to a little courtesy from customers! I am never surprised by the people who complain about Big Fish CS. They're always the people who express themselves often quite offensively in the forums - then wonder when they use that tone with the CS people why they don't get enthusiastically friendly service!  Rolling Eyes Snicker
