Dark & Eerie Games Thread 1

Here's a general game thread for my D&E game friends.  This whole section is dedicated to dark & eerie discussions, so y'all cut loose and have a blast however you like -- This is YOUR area!

Of course come and post in the other areas, but I made this section specifically because of Jeanniemouse, and therefore specifically for the Dark & Eerie game club

Oh come on, I'm the first to report in?

I've been here the entire time, just felt it'd be appropriate to not be the first to post since I wasn't one of the first posters in the thread on BFG.

Wellll, I don't see why not, but it makes me glad it started the thread  

I'm stunned that BF is only giving people ONE DAY to come to grips with the closure of CCC, but then, I'm not surprised at the same time -- they'll only have to deal with angry members for a day before the changeover

Yeah, as i put on there, I'm not happy about the decision, but after the fight i had with gamehouse in June with the my games page, I really have no plans of going to any other game portal for a membership and am sticking with my BFG one. 11 days just to get them to finally admit that they weren't going to restore my mortimer collection to my games page, and I had problems with the coupon codes I got to restore one game as is, and it just really soured me to their CS.

Anyways I beat Nightmares of the Deep 2 last night and really enjoyed the game.

I ruined the whole thread then. I started posting in D&E (or even joined BFG for that matter...) when it was running at 70+ pages. ._.

Yeah, I'm also stupefied by the extremely short notice. A week would be short, but still appropriate. One day? Unbelievable. It's like they wanted to kill the forums as quickly and painlessly as possible. Game Club members can swarm live chat, but regular members would have to resort to email and receive stock replies. Quiet and easy, avoiding PR s***storm. It's even better that BFG's audience is not the one to take to Facebook and Twitter and mess up BFG's reputation there.

Sorry for starting the thread with complaining... Maybe it could be dropped when we eventually get to discuss games ;) and forget the bitter start in the new place.

Well, i'm not going to promise it on the twitter aspect, Warrior's in a bad mood and he has a twitter.

And honestly I thought you were one of the originals, you always felt like one to me when I first started in there and i think I started in there even later then you.

Honestly I'd rather have it here then there, I have shouted in my head so many times while reading that announcement thread "Stop Fighting" because all they are doing is flashing me back to when I was a kid and my grandmother and mother were fighting constantly yelling all over the house and outside of my bedroom.

I rarely visited any thread at BF except the D&E one, for the same kind of reason.  I'm all for keeping this "our" thread and leaving the Big Fish drama THERE.  We can always complain HERE, if we feel like it

So I started Infected: The Twin Vaccine over a week ago, and while I loved it at first, some of the stupid actions we were supposed to take irritated me.  Then I got into The Hollows books and couldn't play ANYTHING, I was so wrapped up in the series!  I should be able to finish it semi-soon, though :D

Sounds like a great compromise to me Genki .

I've beaten Infected myself, there were some things I didn't like about the game, and I did find it sad especially on that intro about the one twin, as well as parts later in the game. But overall I felt it was a good game I have the CE of that myself(got it on a 6.99 sale once) and I do think the Bonus play helps give some insight of the backstory a bit, but I did feel from what I remember that they left some things too open ended(not wanting to spoil so trying to not say what specifically bothered me)

We must have started at more or less the same time then, because I remember your name appearing when I started to learn the nicknames of D&E thread patrons. That's funny, I don't even play that many D&E games, more like complain about there not being enough suited for my tastes. lol

Discussion about BFG continued in the Brand New Forums thread.

Probably then, I think I started posting around the 80's+ but might have been sooner then that, I honestly don't remember.

I'm just checking in and watching the world burn. Sorta.

Hi luvtoread, I was worried about you and was hoping you'd come here and didn't know you already were here.   Thanks, genki for creating a home for us D&E'ers.
I was over at BFG reading all the goodbye's. I'm still shocked at the way all this came about, but you live & learn. I guess I was too naïve and trusting.
Heck, I haven't played any of my game (Redemption Cemetery: Salvation) in the last 2 days. I am in the bonus now.
I will keep my membership at BFG for the time being. Once I came to my senses, I have to say, they do have good prices on their games. Plus, I have quite a few PCCs to use.
I still feel that eventually, PC/Mac games will be phased out, in favor of mobile gaming. I probably should go out and buy an external hard drive, but do you need the GM to play your games from an external hard drive?

Please excuse my mistakes as I'm still learning and I need new glasses because I evidently can't see.

I've PM'd Jeanniemouse, Blooming_Lilac, Perhart, and one of our lurkers to let them know where we've gone and why.  None of them has been online (or least, has not posted) since July.  What a shock they have coming!

Well, it's official, the BFG Forums are now closed. I was just over there and got the message. What I can't believe is all the nastiness that went on. I am truly shocked...again.
So much nastiness, the official Forums Closing announcement thread got locked.

I just don't know about people anymore.
