Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread 1
Yeah, what's with that "instability" comment? I never noticed anything like that.
In matters like these doesn't it come down to money? I mean, it must've cost BFG quite a bit to keep those zillions of threads going, and perhaps business is down in general so they feel they had to get rid of the dead weight, so to speak. But yeah, getting bitten in the asses is what they deserve all right.
Yes we can say bitchy and who knows what else. And here's another tabu broken: HO ho hos! (We need a Santa smiley.)

Oh, but we have some! Click on the smilies button, and there's a drop-down box at the top that says 'View More Emoticons'. Choose 'Christmas' to see what we have Hohoho~RMom wrote:HO ho hos! (We need a Santa smiley.)

You mean, I can say bitchy and I no longer have to spell out hidden object? WOOHOO!
Do y'all think BFG is still going to have sales? That will probably determine whether or not I keep my membership.
I don't know, but something sure feels flakey to me over there. And to think, Picman resumed the title role and this is what we get....(SMH)

We've been having some kind of daily promo since December, so I imagine they will continue doing so.

A new Amnesia game is now available for pre-order at GOG.
Find info about Amensia: A Machine for Pigs here:

I still haven't played The Dark Descent!

Ewww, Amnesia is a survival horror game. I don't think there's any way I could play either one of them.
I would like to see Asylum released, although I'm kinda iffy on whether I can play it, also. Heck, Scratches scared me enough for 2 or 3 people. I don't recommend playing it in the dark at all!

Yes I got the email about the Amnesia pigs game too and thought WTH? Sounded like a joke until I read that it featured "the darkest, most horrific tale ever told in a videogame."
Say no more.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread 1
I don't know if I'll be able to play the first Amnesia. It was gifted to me, and DRM-free , but I had a whole lot of adrenaline just with parts of Delaware St. John: The Curse of Midnight Manor! Still, this IS the Dark & Eerie crowd, so I wanted to bring it up!

Give it a try - maybe you'll enjoy at least part of it.
I recall reading the story synopsis and thought: uhh no, not for me.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread 1
I *know* it's not just me, I've been much less interested in BFG lately. I visit each morning just to see the TGT and DD but that's it. There's no need to linger or go further with it because there's no longer any community as far as I'm concerned. It's like visiting Amazon or any other online store. Plus, I have the usual backlog of unplayed games so I think I'm gonna quit again.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread 1
Genki, I'm also a member of the "Fraidy Cat Club" which is a subdivision of the D&E Club.
R-Mom, I've been a member of BFG for 5 years, happily buying games. I only started getting a little suspicious when the New Forum announcement was made and it didn't happen like they'd planned.
Hondo's disappearance in that thread was even more suspicious to me.
Then we got the crappy new Game Manager (oh, excuse me, the Big Fish Game App, let it be known I do not like the word App) and so many people were having problems with it NOT WORKING for them. Every day new posts would show up.
Put those two things together & I just didn't have a good feeling.
And then, we got the bombshell announcement about no more Forums, period. Which I didn't know anything about until luvtoread told me in a PM. I was a little late getting on the computer & I checked my Messages first. I couldn't even bring the announcement thread up, people were posting like crazy. Oh, I reckoned BFG would not have wanted to post something like this any earlier, I guess when you want to bamboozle everyone, do it at the last possible moment.
Definitely NOT a good way to run a business, IMO.

I made it! I found everyone! What a relief. Genki, thank you for rescuing all of us. I'm totally in shock! That's what I get for being out of touch for awhile...
Thanks so much to those who pm'd me. I would have had no clue what happened.

Jeannie you made it!!! So happy to see you here; it's not a D&E without you! And what a sudden shock, eh?
(Thanks for the kind compliment; but since many of you are posting furbabies I will too!)

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread 1
Yay, jeanniemouse, you're here!!!! Aw, don't feel terrible, we're all here & the shock is starting to wear off after 4 days. Genki made sure to let us know she would take care of all of us & offered us a home here. Thanks, Genki!
The Game Forums are still up at BFG. There is a BOGO sale going on & a new Awakening game out. I'd like to get the new Echoes game, but can't find anything to pair it up with. I already have 7 PCCs.
This might be the first BOGO sale where I'm not buying anything. I'm thinking I'll wait until my GC shows up and buy another credit, get Echoes & cancel my membership.
I just don't know in which direction I'm headed with BFG.
R-Mom, your furbabies were gorgeous and I am very sad for your loss. The furbaby on the left looks like my Sasha.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread 1
jeannie--so glad you found your way over here. I knew genki would find you.
Yes, it was a shock when that happened. But some went way over the top in their reactions--I mean it got high-school bullying nasty. Which I thought was just wrong.
I am not cancelling my membership, tho. I do like the games and that won't, hopefully, stop.
I will wait until Amnesia 2 goes down in price, but I do want to get it...maybe will replay
Amnesia 1.
Today BF is having a BOGO and there are some CE's I would like to get.
So, I am happy about that.
I have to admit to being in a slump, having some game playing issues, but hopefully
this CE sale will pick me up. Plus, being able to come here and also the Adventurers
thread really does help.
dj--good morning..see you are posting while I am on.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread 1
The new Awakening (debating on whether to wait for SE....lets see if I can find something
to pair it with). I do like the new Echoes, but not sure its worth the CE.
Never got Calavera: Something of the Dead title or the last Mystery Trackers.
Good bet I will get those.

Oh, okay. Very good choices! Calavera: Day of the Dead was so quirky & so good, I may have to replay it soon!
Back over to BFG I go to see if I can come up with something.

Good morning everyone! (kind of nice I don't have to call us "fishies" anymore)
I'm so glad you found us Jeannie. I was worried you wouldn't know where we are.
I didn't end up playing Bloody Mary. I sort of dug out Banana Bugs and monkeyed around with that. Get it? Monkey? *groan* Somebody stop me.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread 1
That is too funny, Esme! I'll have to find time to demo Banana Bugs.
I decided to get Nearwood (man, I was very impressed with the opening cut-scene) and Echoes.
I have to tell you all, I am reading this freebie book on Kindle and I came across this word...
man-talents. I didn't know whether to LOL or throw up a little bit.
Seriously, has anyone in the history of the world ever, ever used this term?
(and no, it is not a romance novel)
