I always associated  "Off With His Head"  with Alice and the Red Queen.
Of Course,   "knock knock"    with dumb jokes.

dj---Its good to know we now do not have to wait forever for sales!    I am going to try
the new Dead Reckoning and   House of 1000 Doors.

I'm  Back.......did you even notice I was gone?    Neither did I.  Snicker

I cannot finish House of Too Many Doors.    The Cursor is driving me nuts.   Very Slow,  so I
switched from Custom.    It works better,    but now a hand shows up when I point to something
and that too is rather wobbly.    I am finding it too distracting and slowing things down,
so for now its a no go.     Lets see what happens with the SE.

    Now,   to try Dead Reckoning.

lol, luvtoread, "House of Too Many Doors". Laugh

Well, I don't know what happened to the new PuppetShow. OH! I demo'd House of Too Many Doors. Same distributor (Alawar), but a different team (Logris Games).
IIRC, the other House games was created by either 5 BN, Friday's Games or Stargazer. I'd have to reinstall one of the older games to find out which team did it.

If I were to hazard a big guess, I'd go with 5 BN. They are on their own now and maybe couldn't take the creative rights with them when they left on account of Alawar owns the series.
Probably don't know what I'm talking about though, it's just a guess. Huh?

I experienced no tech issues, but I did notice that the game takes a whopping 2048 MB of RAM as opposed to the previous games using only 512 MB. Geesh, what a resource HOG. meh
I am using my cheap Win 7 laptop.

Eh...not in love with the storyline nor the graphic quality (I do like the HO scenes & the "train" puzzle stumped me for a bit). More than likely, I'll probably wait for the SE.
Oh, forgot to add, the cut-scenes were pretty good. Big smile

Laugh Or look at the game threads here~!  I have the developer underneath the game title in each thread (providing that I know who the dev is.)

You're right, it was Five-BN Wink

I have never been a fan of the House of Too Many Doors series, though I know others have really liked them a lot. I have to be quirky, I guess. I just found them repetitive and blah. I'm not even going to demo it, to be honest.

I have so many un-played games, though I've been doing a bit towards getting started on my backlog. I think I have an old, un-played Puppetshow game rolling around in my Game Manager (or whatever they're calling it now). OH!  Might haul that one out next... though I'm not sure my constitution is strong enough at the moment for an ERS game. LOL!

Are any of you partaking in the sale this weekend?

Lol, I'm constantly looking at your Developer List, Genki! Laugh I LOVE it! I'd be lost without it!

I am a fan of the House of 1000 Doors games. I was kind of shocked to see the developer switch. I think Logris Games did Paranormal Pursuit, also. That game is in my backlog.

Esme, the only game I got was Dead Reckoning: Brassfield Manor. I feel I always get my money's worth with an Eipix game, especially on sale! And I love a good murder mystery! Sherlock

They are pretty good, DJ. I'm usually happy with stuff from them. I still might wait for the "next big sale" at BF though. I did a little shopping therapy this past two weeks, so I should behave myself for a bit. Maybe.

I decided against downloading the Puppetshow game I have, and went for Grim Tales 2... something about a swan. I may regret it. We shall see.

Let us know how Brassfield  Manor is, DJ!  Okay

Brassfield Manor is good. I really enjoy the way they do the whole "whodunnit" mystery.
Gathering the evidence, the journal, the old time movie feel of it.
    The MO's in the HO's.
The sale you can buy the game with.

    Its all good. Happy bounce

    Thanks for the reminder.   Party

Now,  what Roman thing should we do to celebrate?
Have a Toga Party?    (my sheets are not white,   but who cares?  It would be a party of one)
    Have a Ceasar's   Salad?
Watch a Roman movie?     Would  Roman Holiday with Audrey Hepburn count?
Learn a Roman Phrase?    et tu,  Brute?
New York's motto is    Excelsior  (ever Upward)

also,   I found this site on the Smithsonian about other events on this day:

Oh esme, lend me your ears - and happy Idea of March to you! We perform a group breeding at Dragon Cave (minds out of the gutter girls), where all the dragons of Brute breed were bred in the one day, as Es Tu Brute? They are then usually given away.

I kept 3 of mine which means I have to come up with 3 unique names referencing The Ides of March, Shakespeare and the rest. I might be a real smart ass nerd and use those phrases Shakespeare gave us. I am sure "I came, I saw, I conquered" is long gone.

    Caesar Salad is delicious!

I found the original "Carrie" movie in the $5 bin at the store today! Happy bounce
I wanted to compare it with the new "Carrie" movie I recently watched. The new one was okay, but Sissy Spacek's portrayal of the tragic teen in the original movie was so good!
And Piper Laurie as her fanatical mother was awesome!

How about 23 Friends, 23 Romans, 23 Countrymen, plus from somewhere I'll get another to call 46 ears. And for the youngster who was not old enough to participate this year, 23 knives.

We'll see who else is a smart ass nerd and beats me to the names. I figure it might be obscure enough. (Although in Aus, I'm actually a smart arse - nerd debatable.)

Not being a nerd,   but I sure can be  a smarty, pain in the butt,    what names?

Names Like Julius Ceasar and Marc Anthony?  MA is the guy who had the hots for Cleo.
They pulled off a Romeo and Juliette,   with swords and snakes.
But not before they procreated.    Marc and wife had some looney-tunes kids.
Nero,  who supposedly played the fiddle while Rome burned and blamed the Christians,
    Calligula--was he the crazy one?
Marc also went against Pompey---which was also the name of a very bad volcano.
Another name is  Brutus-et tu, Brute--who also was Popeye's rival for
    the affections of Olive Oyl.

Not sure if those are the names you are referring to,   but this is rather  fun    Laugh

So, I'm playing the Grim Tales 2 game... the swan one. I keep trying to remember the Grimm's Fairy Tale about the swan princes. I'm pretty sure it's almost directly taken from that story. My family is German/Russian, so you know I grew up with the GRIM Grimm's tales.  Shock

I'm actually quite enjoying the game. It's a little fairy-tale-ish, but I don't mind. I totally know whodunit, but I don't care. I am just surprised that my character hasn't figured it out yet. LOL I loved the little birdie helper, and I've adored the otter helper. And no, they don't talk or do magic or anything weird... they're just a bird and an otter being cool. I know it's not a brand new game, but if you haven't played it yet, it's not a bad choice... so far. Hopefully the ending doesn't do anything annoying or stupid.  Two thumbs up

I can't wait to hear what names Justie went with too!

I just finished Witches' Legacy: The Ties That Bind and for a SE purchase using a PCC, it was very, very good.
I was kind of iffy about it after demo'ing, with the characters getting ready for the wedding and such. I thought the story would focus mainly on that and be all romance-y. Rolling Eyes  barf
No, it didn't - thank goodness!

The HO scenes were clear, simple, varied, and interactively fun. The puzzles were workable with no hair-pulling, yay!
The little imp dude didn't annoy me. Okay

And...it took me about 3 days to finish the game! A PCC (rushed into using before expiring) well spent!

I didn't realize that Steam does bundle deals on casual games, but apparently they do~!  Here's a really great one on sale, for instance:  http://store.steampowered.com/sub/49962  $8.99 for 8 games, and six of those eight are CE's~!

I did the beta on Those  Deceptive Flowers.   I enjoyed it,   but it reminds me of the other
ones a bit,   except this one does have "flowers gone wildly evil".    I didn't finish the beta
cause I got stuck on a "paint this according to picture" puzzle and for the life of me I could
not figure out what  I didn't have right.

I just finished Danse Macbre and enjoyed it.    I do wonder,  though,   if you need the key to
the safe,   why can't you just ask the owner,   who is doing nothing but standing there,  for it?
And why is the valve inside a wind chime?
Oh, if any of you get shot, call me. I will cure you with a rag and Brandy. Drinking buddy
The story line is not bad at all.

Unfortunately, I have to run errands, then I can come home and play to my hearts content.

    Which 2 do you own?

I have Alex Hunter (which if I remember right was challenging)
Nearwood, Shadows, Dorian Gray, those three I know I did enjoy,
Palm of Zoraster----I was grateful for the map on that one and Small Town
    Terrors.
The other 2, Castle and the first 100000 Doors do not really capture my attention.
