I would kill somebody and bury them under the floorboards for that tote bag! Erhmahgerd!!!
(Seriously, that was a reference to "The Telltale Heart". I would NOT kill for a tote bag. I don't think.)

Yes, DJ... I thought this was the game series that got people all hot and bothered. LOL! Normally I'd be right there with ya, but my inner lit geek just won't shut her mouth.

Esme, you are such a hoot!
isn't melodramatic enough? Hmm, well I think this one suits the situation perfectly: Of course there's this one, too and then there's me, sitting in a corner and watching your rant

Genki, finding your little smileys could be a fulltime job. (Wouldn't it be nice to draw a salary for it?)
I love Poe (the games, not so much) and gotta say that is one nice tote bag.

esme--your rants are waaayyy to interesting to kill this thread.
I love your diva emoticons.
I have been busy playing and actually finishing games. Plus, with the off and on warm
weather, been out walking when warm comes.
Also, playing Lara Croft on my PS3. Really enjoying it up till today as I am totally stuck.
Then, of course, Steam is having the Weekly sale and I have already decided to
buy both Unwritten Tales.
There is also the matter of the library books I am reading.
I hope GOG doesn't have anything on sale that I might want.

I've been getting SO excited that Tesla Effect (the new Tex Murphy game) is coming out in 4 days
... only to read that it's been delayed until 7 May. Another 2 weeks to wait.
Now I'm wallowing in the pits of depression

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Hey everybody!
I finished up Emberwing: Lost Legacy and I think the dev's did an outstanding job! In fact, I would rate it my #1 game from them and it gets top marks in all categories - storyline, graphics, music, HO scenes & puzzles!
Now, onto another game I'm absolutely enthralled with, Cadenza: Music, Betrayal and Death. Madhead Games is quickly becoming my favorite developer!
Wow, the storyline is fantastic! The music is smoky and sultry. I can picture myself in a New Orleans club, sipping a cocktail, simply jazzing out!
I love the very imaginative HO scenes. I've not seen any other dev do what they do with a HO scene!
I actually had to restart because I forgot about my morphing objects, but did it bother me?? Heck no!
This game definitely ranks up there in the top games to come out this year, so far (IMO)!!!

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Hi, dj. Cadenza is one of the ones I started playing and did not stop. I also restarted after
learning I missed my morphing objects.
I never did figure out how to get the collectables later on. I thought it was in Extra's,
but I guess I just didn't look hard enough.
Frodo---don't wallow--- , isn't that better?
Then we can (not sure which one of us is on the right side!! )

according to JTF's review, they are suppose to show up in extra's, I believe. I know they are
not in the main game.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Oh, okay.
I know what you mean, luvtoread, I have to force myself to stop playing. I think it's the storyline, I need to find out what happened.
lol, Frodo. I finally took advantage of the developer sale the other day. The Artifex Mundi one. I think it's my first developer sale buy cause I usually have the other games.
I got Grim Legends for half price.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
dj---this is what I found in JTF's review:
INVESTIGATION (BRIEFCASE) PUZZLE
Once you have all the missing music notes, you move on to the briefcase and a puzzle where you must make the connections between the characters, based on what you learnt in the game. Not easy, even when you play the games one after the other. On completion, you compose a specially designed ‘handle’ and return to the music box.
COLLECTIBLES 2 (MUSIC BOX PUZZLE)
Once you have the handle, your new puzzle presents itself as a miniature stage. You must find the 2nd set of collectibles, one per location in the main game. These are the collectibles in pink which caused so much confusion early on. They could be anything, from a violin to a harpoon, and a picture is given at the right hand bottom corner of the screen. Once you start on this puzzle, you cannot travel in any order other than the specific order given. If you leave and come back in, you will be exactly where you were. On completion of your search, you return to the stage for a HOP that contains many but not all of the objects you found. Finish that and you can at last restore the music repair shop.
I never did do the "handle" or the music box. I know I collected all the music notes as I
remember it let me go to the scene where I missed one.

Oh gosh, sounds hard to me...and I am playing the game one up from the Easy mode already. Thanks for the info, though!
Some of those music notes are a bitch to find, as well as a few of the morphing objects.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
With Easter just around the corner, I thought I'd share a story. This is how my family rolls.
I will include a Warning Alert for those with sensitive stomachs.
This probably would've been my early high-school years. Dad brought home a beautiful white fluffy rabbit (I think he got it from my uncle). I don't recall if it was male or female, but I'm leaning towards male. He was quite a large rabbit & I would faithfully feed him everyday. I would pick nice, green stalks of grass & tear up lettuce from the fridge. I think we even had some rabbit food to feed him.
I would pet him for hours (well, maybe not hours, but a long time) because he was so soft.
One day, after returning home from school, the rabbit was gone! Rushing to ask my Dad what happened to the rabbit, he replied, "Oh, he's run away. I must've left the cage door open." I was a little shocked & saddened at hearing this.
Years later, I was probably in my early thirties by then, Dad told my sisters & I what really happened to the rabbit, no lie...this is what he said, "Oh, I gave the rabbit to my sister & she had him for dinner."
Can you believe that crap??? Now, I don't know if he was telling the truth, but I didn't like my aunt very much that day as pictures of her chowing down on my rabbit kept flashing through my head.
Geesh!
ETA: Easter brought up that memory.
