Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Just as an update, I started playing Raincliff Phantoms.... I know some people are over this series, but I still just love it. It's got a snarky sense of humor and it's just lovely. The game play is fun and offers four levels of difficulty. Elf is still the only helper I love. Morphing objects with an actual purpose... I love this game so far!

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Congrats to kac on that weight loss!! 50 pounds is amazing!
I should lose about 10 pounds but the weight is refusing to budge I'm on low carbs diet as suggested by doc but it doesn't seem to do much. I suspect it's because I don't get much exercise and I have a sitting job. Lately we've been staying overtime and it was impossible not to eat late at night... When I'm getting home at 7pm, I'm so hungry I have to eat something (at 8...), and then I go to sleep at 10pm. Ehhhhh.
Sorry I haven't been around I lost my password. I can't perma log in here on my "social" browser and Firefox is set to clear history every once in a while.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Hi Esme, thanks for the encouragement! I too am happy with a cyber hug; thanks!!
I've got a beach week coming up at the beginning of August and would like to shift some pounds and tighten up by then, so no more nighttime snacking for me...well, I'm trying.
I still haven't played Raincliff's Phantoms, but I've been having fun playing Legend of Crystal Valley, an entertainingly strange oldie. Nice for a laidback weekend.
Hi Vervaine, great to "see" you again too!!

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
I finally finished True Fear: Forgotten Souls. What a great game.
Thank goodness for the map. The only puzzle I had to Skip was the Chess piece one.
Even the YouTube video guy landed up skipping that---and he had a SG!
For those of you who have played, did you notice:
esme--I know I bought and played the last Raincliff and enjoyed it. The Storyline
was different. I like the Raincliff ones and hope they keep our Elf!

"Who is David?"

Hi, Verve, it's nice to see you! *wavies* If you ever lose your password, just PM me at the Pub, and I'll reset it for you!
I've been giving mental support and cheers for the weight loss -- way to go!
from the Oknytt thread:
I'm not sick anymore, just exhausted. Cleaning, sorting, packing, setting things aside to put in a garage sale, bagging up things to donate (LOTS of stuff getting taken to Friends of Felines!)... There's still SO much to do. We've been here for 13 years, and we have WAY too much stuff!
SO, not set to go just yet, but I have next week off, and hoping to get all of the non-essentials packed then, have the garage sale the next weekend, and be ready to go after that! That will give us about a month to find a place, so fingers crossed!

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Isn't it amazing how stuff just piles up over the years? I've been in my house for 9 years and I remember thinking at the time that I'd never fill it up (after apartment living for the previous seven years)... boy was I wrong! It's just way too easy to stash stuff in the basement.
I finished Raincliff Phantoms and loved every bit of it. Did anyone else play it and notice the one spot on top of the bar where the game called the town Rainfall instead of Raincliff? That made me giggle every single time! LOL
I do have to say that I just love EG's designs on all the masks in their games. They are just so beautiful... creepy sometimes, but beautiful.
I also liked how they did away with the "dress up Elf" portion and just made him cute and helpful without being overdone. That made me happy too. Overall, it was a great game and I'd totally recommend it.
Not sure what to play next, maybe Emberwing? First, however, a nap!!!

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
YES, thing thing I love most about collecting games (besides stress relief) is that the only thing they're cluttering up is my hard drive!!
Ah geez... STUFF! Thanks, jboliver!
I was gifted a bundle, and it just wouldn't be right for me to trade the games I don't want, so I'll be giving them away! Is anyone interested in any of these Steam games:
One of these may be taken -- I'm waiting to hear back on which one. If any of these appeal to you, speak up!

If no one else wants it, I'd like to try Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi (even tho it is a shooter). But as I say, anyone who's into shooters or whatever that want first dibs...

Should never read your posts about games. Went to steam to look at these and at the week long deal didn't I?
Spending money now, aren't I?
Getting many hundreds of hours of play time, isn't I?
YAY!!!! I give in to my addiction!! ...and I feel good!

I remember an old George Carlin bit about "stuff" and how we are always looking for places for our stuff and finding ways to take our stuff along with us. He was a funny guy, and I'm always glad that I got to see him perform live before he died.
I just had to call myself out on my comment in this post. Duh, Esme. It would be really difficult to see him perform live AFTER he died. Logical fallacies for the win, Alex! Dur.

Is there anyone who wants (and doesn't already have) The Witcher 1 from GOG? Dungeon Keeper Gold? I keep seeing these offered.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Since I finished Raincliff Phantoms, I decided to start Emberwing today. Interesting game. It's been a long time since I've played a dragon-y, elf-y type game. Let's just say I'm not fully trusting the main elf dude. I call it the Thranduil Effect.
I'm enjoying the game thus far, but I've only gotten to the Elf Library. Have any of you finished it? Should I get my hopes up? (Though the elf dude who wants to crack starnuts [I think] with me is making me laugh big time! Worst pickup line in the forest! LOL)

Esme, I finished it, and LOVED it!
You're right not to trust the elf guy though
Love the elf eyes, though.

- Later on in the game, you'll have to help an injured dragon. Poor wee dragon.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Emberwing is throwing me for a loop, even though it's a pretty good game. What is this hanging on to useful things like screwdrivers for extended periods of time in case you need it again stuff? Don't they know that in HOPAs we immediately drop and can never find again things that might be useful, like screwdrivers, flashlights, hammers and the obligatory crow bar?
I'm appalled at this astonishing use of "logic" and "common sense" and I won't stand for it in my games!!!!
*collapses in a fit of laughter*
