I just played the trailer for Avadon - that is the sort of game I used to play, rpg turn based. It looks pretty good

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Hello folks. Thanks Genki, for the reminder about the external drive/no GM instructions. I'm going to get on that and finally get this mess of games DL'd to the drive, my computer all cleaned off, and cancel BFG. I really like the GOG type games more anyway (Does that make me a serious gamer?! ) LOL
RE: Fallout New Vegas - While it is true that there is more shooting in Fallout 3 and Fallout NV, I wouldn't consider them FPS (first person shooters). They are more OWRPGs (open world role playing games) in which the character kills things to survive. I know you have to kill ONE thing to finish FO3, whereas you can finish FO & FO2 without killing anything. I'm not sure about FNV. (I play to relieve stress, so sometimes killing a deathclaw is immensely satsifying ;) The developer changed between 2 and 3 to Bethesda, the same folks who make the Elder Scrolls series.
I must go do RL work so I can support my gaming habit. Thanks for the reminder of GOG's Pot of Gold sale. Holy Cow, I'd forgotten!

PS Sorry about the weird formatting. Cat walked on keyboard; I didn't undo her edits.

Just got my coupon as well
Kac, it's 60% off the members price. I just tested it (without buying), and a Collector's Edition game that normally costs £10.80, is now only £4.32, with the coupon.
Now I just need to choose which game to buy. There's so many I want.

Well, in case esme pops in here, not sure if she gets the Humble Bumble e-mail.

Thanks for the info, ladies!
I've never purchased from Humble... have any of you had problems with them?

I've purchased a couple of times from them without any problems. I generally get Steam keys and download the games from Steam.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
I love the indie bundles! Often you can get games DRM-free! Just look for an open padlock or DRM-FREE icon somewhere near the game. At the top of the Wayward Manor screen, you'll see icons for Steam, PC, and Mac, so this one is Steam-only.

I don't have a Steam account. Do you know if it will matter? This is a little intimidating to me.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
The game says it has a Steam key so you would have to set up an account with Steam to install it. Steam is free and I use it a lot. I've not had any problems with it.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
I've had a Steam account for at least 2 years and have several games I have bought from
them. No problems. At least you know you won't be alone over there.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Sorry to be out of touch so much lately, will be around (and reviewing) again I'm sure, when my current need to read while lying on sofa with 4 or my 5 cats (Jackie, the pc cat, won't share) lessens a little.
At the moment, "I just want to be alone"
