I just noticed the Mystery Valley reference too, djrum, I don't really remember much about it, but it was my first ever review on big fish, and I was not nice lol. Rated it a 2/5. Mainly because it was gloomy and drab, and the typos. The translations in this one aren't perfect either, but I'm much more into grunge now than then lol

No, no no - now it is freezing on me!! So much for the tough guy act. *sigh* guess I'll have to think of something else.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
I went on to BF FB...I posted I could not access their site. This was about an hour ago.
I just went back to see if there was a response. Could not find my post.
So...reposted again. Made sure that the post was posted (which I am positive my first
post was posted).
So.....I am glad at least dj is successful with playing.
I am wondering if the site is just getting overwhelmed, like they have in the past with other
games (MCF anyone?)

Justie, hope it works for you soon. You're in for a treat.
So far, my only (minor) gripe is that they were determined to give me those popup tutorial boxes, even though I clicked on 'No Tutorial'. I also kept clicking on 'Skip Tutorial' every time a box popped up.

luvtoread, I only played part of the demo. I will pair it with something else & take advantage of the sale. I hope when I get around to installing it, it works.
I'm currently playing Danse Macabre. On a side note...Esme, really?? There are morphing objects in this game??

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Yes, djrum, there are morphs in Danse Macabre.
Finally got True Fear sorted out. very long game. am nowhere near finished and have been at it for hours.
While it is not technically first rate (there are errors, inconsistencies, blah blah blah) and not scary MOST of the time, it is TENSE all the time. The music is what puts it up there in terms of atmosphere. Even when there isn't any (music), the silence then feels ominous. A little ironic humour in it too, which I love.
Just stopped to come up for air. The tension does get a bit strenuous for lil ol me. But this is DEFINITELY for the D&E crowd.

Apparently it's one of the hidden objects I was unable to find.
DJ- Yep, there are morphing objects, but not too many of them. It's not a huge part of the game.

Anyway, I loved the game, despite inconsistencies etc.

- The game is the first in a trilogy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It says "to be continued" - my 3 most hated words!!! After all that (5 hours, with breaks), I still don't know what's going on and it'll be years before we see the next one, you just know it will, right!? How could they do that to us???

The continuing Saga of "Problem Loading Page"
I did get a response from BF's FB page. My post for the True Fear game stuck.
I thanked him (Justin) for responding. Another woman said she also could not access
the site.
I contacted CS through the link he gave me. Odd, I could get to BF through that link
but cannot get to their main page through any other link.

It's odd, Luvto. I was just able to purchase and download it. I use Chrome if that helps.
So sorry you are having such problems with it. Good luck!
Not sure I'm going to start a game right now though. I'm dealing with either some flu or a wicked sinus infection. Plus I'm thinking about finishing my book first.
Decisions, decisions!

Luvtoread, I use Internet Explorer, and can get to BFG with no problems. Have you tried using that?
Justie, glad you finally got it to work. But those 3 words you mention... are also *my* most hated words.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
I use Firefox and have good success with it. I have no other problems today, just BF.
I am not upset as I am finishing playing The Raven (I got sidetracked playing Doorways)
and a group play for The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav is starting today.
So will be busy playing games I already own.
What would be interesting would be one of esme's rants if this were happening to her
I hope you are feeling better. I've had a headache today, and that is more than I want
to deal with!!

Luvtoread... about your posts disappearing on facebook. There's a wee thing, right above the posts, that says 'HIGHLIGHTS', with a downward arrow next to it. If you click on that arrow, then 'POSTS BY OTHERS', you'll see user's comments there. Hope that helps.

Well, I'll be!! The odd thing is....(I did what you said and found it) where I posted no one
else had.
At least they did respond, tho.
Hopefully by tomorrow all will be well with BF.
It is 12:46 A.M. BF site is finally behaving itself. I'd rather be sleeping right now, but I guess
I will play a game.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Yay, luvtoread, you did it!!
Um...so what exactly is going on with PCCs & bonus punch Mondays & all that stuff? From what I gathered, we won't get a bonus punch if we use a PCC to purchase a game on Mondays?
The forum at BFG on this topic which was in the True Fear forum turned ugly (as usual & no wonder CCC was closed, just sayin...aren't we all supposed to be adults? Geesh).
Actually, it always surprised me we were able to use a PCC and still get an extra punch. If this isn't the case, then I don't know what's going on & would certainly appreciate any enlightenment on the subject.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
dj---I have a game question for you. I really like True Fear and want to buy. Seeing as
we both have the same taste in games, what should I pair it with?
I have European Mysteries--which I bought with the Mystery Trackers at the last CE sale.
Either that, or I will just wait for the SE to come out.

LMAO, luvtoread, you won't believe this...but I paired True Fear with Dark Romance (that vampire game) because I'd read it had some good puzzles & a fair amount of HO scenes.
I highly recommend the new Hidden Expeditions game, if you don't already have it!!

I already have the HE game. I really enjoyed that one, too. That was one of the better ones.
Oh well. Maybe I will wait for the SE.

The last I heard was that punch credits would give us no punches, UNLESS they were used during a Bonus Punch promotion, where we'd get one punch (not two) for using it. They could have fixed that by now, though.
