- Spoiler:
- i'm pretty sure I've completed everything. I admit, I cheated & went to a cpl of walkthroughs 'cause I got so damn frustrated. I got the stuff to set 2 flash pots in the gym, & thought I did so. Sam even said something like "there, that's done". But there's still one in my inventory, & no way to put it anywhere. Geez, I hope this isn't a glitch. i'm almost ready to go back & play the whole chapter again... noooooo

Yay Justie!!! - on both counts, your (spoiler) & your motivation. Way to be, girl!! My motivation right now is an obsessive desire to find what I've missed that wont let me move to the end of chapter 4. Has anyone passed that, & can help me? I've back tracked so many times I think my footprints are part of the game

Re: Gray Matter Group Play
Amen, sister. This is what I've learned about playing this game: if you've been there, go back again, and again... and again. If you're absolutely sure there's nothing left somewhere for you to do at some location, there definitely IS something there to do. If it makes no sense to revisit a place where all activities came to a halt, go back, there's more. Holy cow, this is really intricate - for me anyway. I'm really liking it, but ye gads, my head is spinnin Time to put the brain on the charger & exit, stage left...JustTheFacts wrote:
I can see I am going to have to play a bit at a time. Or I will exhaust myself. It is very immersive, I felt myself getting into it a little too much. I have a tendency to get obsessive about things. (Like with dragons maybe )

I think if you hit the space bar it shows the hot spots. I know something you click shows them. That can help if you are stuck.
A walkthrough is helpful too.

Is anyone else having difficulty with the save slots? I can only access the 3 that show up - my scroll bar isn't working. So far, I am ok just writing over previous saves, but eventually I might want to expand that. Just wondering.
So finally I am

You are where I am pippi, I keep getting caught in other things... Had the same trouble with homework - if it requires active mental exercise, even washing the clothes can become essential to my well being

I'm there too, Pippi and Justie. So many interruptions, plus I have a good friend coming over in a little while... so no further gaming until tonight. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see my friend and all, but I do want to get back to learning magic!!

YES. Yes. My thought was

Won't have much playing time this weekend; it's our garage sale time. Hopefully you'll have a few minutes to play, Genki - this is a good game! (she says enthusiastically while still in chapter one, already stuck.)

Be kind to yourself pippi, I had to look up a walkthrough to remind me to do what you do in every game since history - look around and snitch stuff.

So I finished chapter 1 - did anybody else's video loop and play over and over and over?
This is a very interesting storyline! I'm going to be on pins and needles until Sunday, when I can play again!

Its nice to know I am not the only one behind. I have been working long hours
and do not want to play when I am tired.
Confession: I have been doing charter trips for groups going to State
Parks and water themed parks. Tomorrow I am doing shuttling for Saratoga Raceway.
My job is so tough......not.
But it is long hours. Or lots of driving just to get to where they want to go.
Anyway, hope to get to play the game this weekend.

I have progressed a ways in this game (with a little research, like kac does) .....I think.

Hey Luvto! That's about where I am. Nothing wrong with bragging.
- very embarrassing confession:
- I will never tell how long it took me to figure out that I needed to light a match under that vent.
I also shall not admit that in shameful HOPA style, I searched for a screwdriver to take off said vent.

<sigh> Even with a walkthrough I am not doing the magic right. My brain is tired I guess. But I worked a lot on Broken Sword 5 with hubby since he was around. Tomorrow I'll attack Gray Matter with fresh vigor. If only it didn't work so sluggishly.

Luvto -
So I am halfway through Chapter 2. This game is so interesting! The story is really neat - I haven't figured it all out yet, and that is something I really appreciate.
I'm still having a real problem with the save game list scrolling. Is anybody else noticing this or is it a glitch in my game? Honestly, I don't need more than 3 save slots, but I'm spoiled and hoard game saves.

No, my slots are working. Not sure why yours won't scroll. So, you've done

Luvto: Yup. One word: creepy.
But other than that, I'm down with her. She's my cooler self, even if she does lie sometimes.
- Just in case others have not:
- Our dear PC has more guts than I do. I would've , told him to jump off a cliff, and walked to London. The beds are even called "lobotomy machines" in the game. EGAD!

Re: Gray Matter Group Play
So I am about 80% through Chapter 2. And this is a big spoiler so don't read unless you want to know stuff...
I might take a teeny little hint from one of my group players, though.
- Sooo Frustrating!:
- I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the receptionist lady to let me do the magic trick on her. I have the letter about the stuff she needs. I have both scientific articles. I have prepared the fake thumb. I see the letter opener. But I don't get the magic icon and I can't pick up the letter opener. What on earth am I missing? While a walk-through is calling my name, I am determined to figure this out on my own.

Re: Gray Matter Group Play
So I figured out my problem above ... and learned I have a glitch in my game. This is probably the same glitch that wonks up the save slots. It's not game-breaking and now that I know sometimes I don't get the correct cursors I can work around it. I also think it is my computer's fault. My computer does a lot of stupid things.
- Because this has something to do with gameplay:
- I don't always get the hand over the filing cabinet drawers, so I can't open them. That is the only reason I struggled through Chapter 2! Whew.

Ahh, glitches! There's one in The Longest Journey that two of us ran into (a game-stopping one at that!), but luckily I was able to find a way around it.
