I have read the rules, and talked in the Dragon Cave forums. There is no objection to the way we played it.
Personally, I find "holier than thou" attitudes a lot more offensive!

Glad to hear it orphaned. 
But after the Bronze trophy, I have to say, I didn't pay much attention to numbers so much as getting the right dragons for my story. Would never have believed it, but that actually seems to have made things faster not slower. Was shocked to find I was past the 100 mark!
But of course, now I am so close, am anxious for those extra slots!
