And if you are apologizing for doing the swaps, that is perfectly okay, people trade with each other all day every day, including "IOU" trades, where people commit to getting something for someone else later... I have read the rules, and talked in the Dragon Cave forums. There is no objection to the way we played it.

Personally, I find "holier than thou" attitudes a lot more offensive!

Except you didn't do swaps, JTF,
you parked your eggs and hatchlings
on someone else's scroll to grow up,
    and that not acceptable,
it violates the rules of gameplay.

    Trading, accepting gifts are acceptable,
but leaving your eggs and hatchlings on
someone else's scroll so you can get
more eggs and hatchlings from the cave
and then taking them back from the other
    person's scroll is cheating.

I was shocked when you asked a newbie to let you
use her scroll so you could get more eggs and
    hatchlings. It violates the rules.

I just don't feel comfortable being a witness
to the things you do since I can't condone
cheating, so I hope I can  start my own Dragon Thread
in here and post in there, detailing the correct
way to play, with helpful hints that don't include
    cheating.

It seems I have been misinterpreting the rules of Dragon Cave.  Embarrassed

If so, please believe me, I meant no harm, just wished to help a friend, while enjoying myself in the bargain.

My apologies, Riddick and orphaned, (and any others) if I offended you. That, also wasn't my intent.

    New eggs in the cave...

I could never have imagined the many ways such an event could affect life in the cave!

First, of course, everyone stops whatever else they're doing, to rush off to the cave and grab the first arrivals. There, you are confronted, with not the usual three captioned but not visible eggs, but with a sign saying there are no eggs here! What?! There are ALWAYS eggs in the cave, right? Well, not at the moment it seems.

Then, at intervals, some of the biomes (different habitats in the cave) start receiving egg drops. Suddenly, there are eggs with totally new but intriguing captions. My favourite is "This egg makes you feel a bit uneasy".

If you're lucky, and fast, you can grab yourself one or more of these little mysteries for yourself and head on back to what you were doing. Of course, if you were, as I was, in the abandoned cave, you may not recognize it either!

In the abandoned cave, the strangest things start happening...

Eggs of even the most sought-after breeds are sitting there, being ignored! Hatchlings of all kinds, are dropping in one after another - 3, 4, more in each refresh! So wild!  Happy bounce

Then it gets even crazier - the short term eggs with only a few days or even hours left, every breed again. Hatchlings only hours from maturity!  OH!

Over the next hour, the hatchlings dried up completely, not even a wild black dragon more than one each hour or two! And remain AWOL still. But the eggs keep coming and coming and coming... even 24 hours later, 48 hours later, the eggs are coming through the abandoned cave at 4 days 16 15 10 hours - average! And short term eggs of preferred breeds still just sit there.

    New eggs in the cave...

The "market" for abandoned eggs and hatchlings finally bottomed out, yesterday (game time), at 4 days and 7 hours! At that point it was relatively easy to get the NEW eggs, as well as the old, for that time period! Miser

Needless to say, each egg slot that came free on my scroll was immediately filled with another!  Wub  Laugh

I am looking forward to finding each new youngster's role in my family, and the Chronicles of Penddraig.  Hmm...

Check out the new Dragon Play thread for adult pix of the new dragons and other good stuff:

    Burnt Orange Egg

    Pink & Red Egg

    Blue Striped Egg

You can also find out more about the new eggs on the following page in the

    Dragon Cave Wiki

Merry Snatching until the next new egg release.

Okay  I GOT TO ADD CONTENT
    TO DRAGON CAVE WIKIA!
    Okay

It didn't list Ultraviolet as a breed that produced a Avatar of Destruction, but I thought it might, because its parent breeds are Spitfire and Purple, and they were listed. So gave it a go, got an Avatar of Destruction, and got to add the result on the Wikia!!

ONCE AGAIN AT THE COAL FACE
    by your roving reporter Justie

    typingcat

Well, it's early, I'd have thought, to be noticing any changes, seeing the new eggs won't be released until Saturday 2nd August (according to our resident Dragon Cave expert, Frodo, who must hang out with the cool kids who know such things  We\'re Unworthy! ).

But the tension is already affecting the Abandoned Cave. A new record (since I started looking) of 117 people were viewing today, and what were they looking at? Egg upon egg upon egg. Not a hatchling in sight. And the eggs were everything - even a Gold one!  EEK!

All of us are holding our egg slots free, of course, for the big DROP, but we are also looking for ways to keep our slots busy until then. So forget hatchlings - there aren't any. Forget most eggs - too late for them to hatch in time. That leaves short-time eggs, and frankly, even they are dodgy!

So this newbie breeder/roving reporter is making for the Cave, to practise identifying eggs by description only. NOT as easy as it sounds! Gah!

    Stay tuned...

Good enough for me! You have an uncanny knack for predicting BOGOs, so I will bet on it!  Big smile

But if not, I'll have an unusually large supply of egg slots and red dragons at my disposal lol.

BTW, is that account I sent you his?

Congrats on your successful pairing!  heart flowers
