TVP=Textured Vegetable Protein.
BY MORNINGSTAR FARMS:
GRILLERS - don't expect it to taste like a hamburger, because it
doesn't. It DOES, however taste very good when cooked right. I like to
cook them, then cover them with brown gravy (meatless, of course!). It
tastes like salisbury steak this way! Serve w/mashed potatoes and green beans.
CHIK-PATTIES - (I *think* this is what they're called!) These "chicken"
patties are very good, but *spicy*! They have a nice texture, they're
great prepared however you like. Good as a sandwich, or covered with
country-style gravy. Yummy!
BREAKFAST LINKS - One of my
favorites! Tastes just like sausage (to me, at least!) My husband likes
them, too, and he's a down-home "I want BBQ" Texan!)
Note: I DON'T recommend the MSFarms "bacon" {{{shudder}}} ACK!
ORIGINAL GARDENBURGERS
GARDENBURGERS WITH RED PEPPERS, ETC: Nice for a change-up
NALLEY'S VEGETARIAN CHILI Made with TVP, my husband can't tell the difference!
I can't remember the brand, but I think "Worthington" is responsible for
CHIK-ETTES. This product tastes kind of like chicken, though I don't
recommend eating it straight. It's best in recipes (such as Chicken Broccoli Rice), and
comes in a roll which you can cut or tear up into pieces.
