I'm stressing because I can't think how I am going to get these cats of mine to cooperate with me and each other long enough for us all around the food at the same time!

Don't be too impressed. I bake to de-stress or procrastinate.

Baking distresses me! And I have never even tried to make fudge or meringue(!!), that is really scary! But hey! I am really good at microzapping frozen dinners and opening tins of cat food!

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
LOL I love being creative and crafty... keeps me out of trouble. Mostly.
I even made a natural healing salve for my dogs today because one of them has terrible allergies and her skin breaks out. Going to try some natural remedies since the hard-core meds and expensive grain-free foods aren't doing much.
Again, I putz around when I should be doing "something" serious... like finishing all the games I bought. LOL

Oh THAT I can relate to!
I have so much to do with all these games, and reviews I haven't done, and over 1000 dragons to write into the story I am writing so that I could write my dragons into a story - oh dear!
Only time I ever voluntarily do the housework is the day before the essay is due!

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
I have been in cooking/cleaning/baking/crafting overdrive for two days. I'm sort of freaking myself out.
But my house looks nice and I have Grain-Free Puppy Pumpkin Biscotti in the oven for the fur-kids.
I have issues.

Wow! Home-baked goodies for the fur-kids! My guys drool and feel special if I take a handful of regular biscuits out of the dish right in front of them and hand feed. THOSE biscuits are "fur special"
My kids would love you sooooo much!

Wow....inactive forum and now so much to read!!
r-mom: So glad to hear from you and sorry about all the drama going on at work.
My reaction to people with unnecessary drama:
Fortunately, do not have to really deal with it, being anti-social and all.
Plus we pretty much get along at work.
esme- What to say? Cupcakes and Miracle jeans...will one cancel the other
out?
genki--did you get any offers for the 60% off? I hope so. Also, I did
go over to the DBP and e-mailed jenniemouse to let her know we miss her.
I am tackling my games that have been sitting on my laptop.
One of them is 9 Clues: The Ward.
Really not a bad game and the story line is rather interesting.
Oh...I got a beta for the new Puppetshow. I dl/d it days ago and have
just remembered it now!!

Oh--almost forgot.
I went to the movies Saturday and was thinking about some of you here while watching
it.
I thought of esme because of Benedict Cumberbatch.
I thought of the rest of you because of the Dragon, Smaug.
I Guess You Know What I watched.
This is all blue because I did something that I do not know how to undo.

No takers on the 60% off coupon yet! Good on CE's and SE's at Big Fish. Anyone want it?

My obsession precedes me! LOL He is just a fine actor (and totally fine looking too IMO)! Love the guy. Did you see the interview he did as Smaug on Colbert last week? Too funny!

Yes, I did see that, burnt Colbert to a crisp.
Also, I took out a Sherlock Holmes short stories CD from the library that BC
did the reading for.
Nice Voice.

Someone was saying they could not make fudge, but I have a foolproof recipe (and it's even posted here!)
It's just condensed milk and chocolate chips, heated until it's smooth and shiny. Take it off the heat, add vanilla and/or whatever flavorings you choose, stir, then pour into a wax paper-lined casserole dish.
Done!
Then you just need to wait for it to cool, pull off the wax paper, and cut it with a pizza cutter.
Easy, easy!
Fast and EASY Fudge

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Wow! I think even I could manage that - and with the ingredients in my pantry (not condensed milk), may get that. Sounds really yummy! And decadent! Definitely my kind of food!

I still like the idea of the raspberry/orange fudge. Not sure how I'd do it, but I might have to start tinkering with it.

LOL No hurry, no worry, Genki. It's not like I need fudge. I sort of wish I did, but I don't. My "butt lift technology" jeans have enough work to do for one season!

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Thanks for the tip, jboliver! I'll try it when I make Hubs his pie. I should probably make it tomorrow.
I had some Peanut Butter Fudge today...delicious!
Thanks, Genki, but I can ruin No Fail Fudge. My friend was telling me about fudge made from cake icing (whatever flavor you prefer) and condensed milk (I think), and something else (can't remember). Put it in a bowl and microwave.
I'm afraid to try it because I've lost faith in my ability to make any kind of fudge.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
djrum, I hope the tip works. I personally have never tried it but the book I got it from was America's Test Kitchen Cooking School. Any recipe that I have tried from ATK, Cook's Country or Cook's Illustrated have never failed.
A couple of years ago I made the chocolate cream pie recipe they have (Oreo cookie crumb)that completely disappeared.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm already getting my fill of sweets and junk food... and Christmas isn't even here quite yet.
I might have to bust out the quinoa and some veggies soon. Ugh.
It sucks to get old.

lol, jboliver, that's about the only thing I haven't tried yet! I was going to make his pie today, but I was too exhausted. Plus, there's no room in the fridge.
Yeah, I definitely know what you mean by the junk food, Esme.
I need a salad or something.

Just checking in to say hello and hope that everyone had a great Christmas if you celebrate it. I had a nice one and now I'm ready to chill for a bit and read and play some games hopefully.
I hope you are all having a wonderful end to 2014 and let's hope for blessings and love for all of us in 2015!
