The ill-fated mansion of deranged toymaker Henry Stauf has been left to corrode and decompose for 70 years. However, the ominous silence only concealed the deadly legacy of madness and, when a journalist named Carl Denning arrives to search for his missing lover, the malignant past and undying forces are brought back to the real world. From the second you enter the mansion, every moment is filled with horror. Three mysterious women are your only guides as you try to escape the haunted house.

The 11th Hour, the much-anticipated sequel to record-selling adventure horror The 7th Guest, follows the path of mystery, desolation, horror and grotesque logic set by its predecessor. It is one of the finest examples of blending cinematic sequences with a 3D environment. The 11th Hour, in a fashion similar to The 7th Guest, features 22 wonderfully pre-rendered 3D rooms that took almost three years to craft. This challenging interactive story offers a wide array of games, puzzles and quests wrought by the twisted mind of the legendary Henry Stauf. Will you unearth Old Man Stauf’s fate at last, or seal your own forever?

    • Fully Explore over twenty-two beautifully-rendered rooms with faster, smoother 3-D graphics than ever before.
    • Participate in a suspenseful interactive drama directed by David Wheeler, written by The 7th Guest author, Matthew Costello, featuring first-rate actors and a new musical score by The Fat Man.
    • Solve three CD's worth of diverse and perilous challenges.
    • Get on-screen hints instantly with the GameBook, No backtracking necessary.
    • Watch high quality, full motion video without any additional hardware required.

Nice review Genki, thanks.  Offering     I've always wondered about the 7th Guest and the 11th Hour.  Your review answered that for me and I'm off to DotEmu and GOG.   Happy bounce  ETA: Marianne

I can't claim credit for the description in the first post, Marinora!  That came directly from GOG's purchase page!  Thanks for giving me so much credit, though! Offering  Big smile

BTW, have you played The 7th Guest?  11th Hour is the sequel.

No, I haven't played either of them, so I want to get both.  Can't play one without the other !!!  You may not have written the review, but the efforts to post it were yours.  Smile

Has anyone here actually played them?  How do they run, etc?  They were my all time fav. back in the 'dark ages' & I'd love to play them again.

I haven't played them, no, but GOG (Good Old Games) takes the old classics and rebuilds them to be able to play on our newer systems... and without DRM, to boot! Happy bounce  I'm sure the version at DotEmu is the same one, but I don't know whether they have DRM or not.

I'm sorry but what is DRM?  (sounds like I don't want it?)

Marinora, thanks.  Do you think you are going to get them?  Maybe I will have to break down & get them first?

lol to getting them first Laugh

DRM is the "stuff" that places add to keep you from sharing the files illegally -- things like game managers, activation codes, etc.  I think the most invasive is the Steam client, but that's probably because I'm prejudiced against it Snicker

A DRM-free game, like one you'd get from GOG, is just an application (.exe file.)  Install and DONE!
