You're not doing anything wrong
Dragons can be VERY stubborn!
If you get the message that 2 dragons 'Refuse To Go Near Each Other', then they will never get along, and you should find them a new mate.
But if you get a different message, it's just bad luck. You could try again next week... or you could try changing their mate to see if you have any more luck.
