Brilliant plan on my part!!
Drifting around the cave, saw egg I didn't remember seeing before, so grabbed it!
Had absolutely no idea what I was getting! 
Then grabbed a guardian to protect the others till I could find out if it was safe to keep young vamps around. And it has started to crack already, less than 12 hours since I stole it!

I can always 'breed' you one Riddick!
All you have to do is hand your eggs to me, I let my boy bite them, and if you're very lucky, you got a 5% chance I'll be able to save one from dying and then you only have to worry about me giving it back to you

My hellfire has cracked twice in the last 12 hours! S/He is really moving! Hope not too fast! But, got blue after hellfire, so probably nothing to worry about!

- I have one that is light blue and white. That is the marking of a guardian egg. They are not really rare, in fact, quite common. So you should be able to grab one from the "orphanage", where the abandoned eggs are sooner or later. Otherwise, look for an egg standing in front of others in the cave.

Sometimes, if you happen to be there when Dragon Cave site is updating, it looks like you have no dragons or some of them are missing. But a few minutes later, that is all over again. Maybe that was all it was and you owe poor little Toby an apology? Just sayin' ...
