No worries, Genki! I'm just glad to see you're back and everything is okay.
Right now I'm in the "mindless game" portion of my summer.... endless rounds of Slingo Supreme 2 are keeping me from actually getting anything accomplished. LOL
How are all of you keeping busy during my favorite time of year?

Everything's been going beautifully, except for the crushing heat, of course Me, every time I have to go out -->
I love the new job, been spending a lot of time with the kids, and actually playing games! I just finished a couple-months-long marathon of Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Origins.
I haven't started a new game yet, just trying to decide which one to play. Choices, choices...

I'm glad to hear things are going well, Genki. I know what it's like to be busy so totally understand! It's been hot here, but I tend to be an indoor creature, so the AC has been keeping me comfy!
I haven't started a new HOG in a while. I downloaded an old Slingo Supreme 2 and have been playing that obsessively. Just one more round.... Okay, just one MORE....

I would recommend trying the Ravenhurst beta. I started it and it is good.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Hi everybody! Hubs is on vacation and I haven't had a chance to game very much.
I received the beta for the new MCF, also, and I will definitely be buying! Shoot, it took me a little over 2 hours to complete it and I even had to skip the first "super" puzzle I ran into.
I didn't realize what time it was and I'm hungry!

Hi gang! Good to see you all getting into the new Ravenhearst. I am always left floundering by their super-puzzles, so it is not yet tempting enough to drag me away from my dragons. But you ought to know - I lurk.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Its funny--I saw today's sale and thought "I am not really interested in CE's much"
Then I saw TGT-Beyond: Light Advent-I played the beta on that one-did not realize
it would be a CE--and bought that with Subliminal Realms: The Masterpiece which
I really like.
I finished playing Surface: Alone in the Mist--
Normally, I am a Surface fan, but this one didn't do it for me.
I hope they go back to the way the other games are--different. This one had the
bad guy, mists, fog.
The previous ones seem to think more outside the game playing box.
I still remember the first one--The Noise She Couldn't Make. There was a
beautiful shot of Sand Dophins jumping in the air. The actress playing the
nurse was hammy, which was funny.
Game of Gods and the Soaring City were also, for me, interesting games I could
just dive into.
I am glad to have 2 games that I know I will really enjoy--no regrets buying.
I hope everyone is having the same beautiful weather I am having.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Luvto-- I, too, usually like the Surface games, but was disappointed with that one even though I tried hard to convince myself I liked it. Do any of you do that or is it just me? I try to convince myself that I like a game better than I do so that it feels more enjoyable or something. I usually fail. LOL
I haven't been playing many games. I found a new author/mystery series that I'm pretty captivated by, so I've been doing that mostly.
Are you and Hubs going anywhere for vacation, DJ? All our vacation time is tied up in travel for various weddings this summer. It's not nearly as fun as just getting away somewhere. Blah.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
Hey folks, I already posted about it in the Kickstarter Thread, but I'm sure that some (maybe most) of you never saw it. Check out THIS GAME if you're into adventure games at all. It looks really good, and the people who made Tormentum -- OhNoo Studios -- is involved, so I'm really excited about it.
Even if you don't do Kickstarters, pop over to give Tsioque an upvote on Steam Greenlight if you like what you see -- Every little bit helps!
EDIT - I've just backed my first Kickstarter! hehe I always wondered what happened to the money when the game (or whatever) *doesn't* meet its goal, and the answer is that you've only pledged your money... It doesn't come out of your account unless the item meets (or exceeds) its goal!

By the way, I was excited to see the new Mad Head game, Beyond: Light Advent. Anyone played it? I've really been impressed by Mad Head in the past!

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
I didn't know if I was going to be getting any CEs this weekend, it depended on what kind of sale we got.
I had to get Beyond: Light Advent, just because I love Mad Head and it seems to be a sci-fi game. Hopefully, it'll be as good as Eternal Journey.
I also got the new Dead Reckoning.
No, Esme, we won't be going anywhere for vacation. I think Hubs is happy he doesn't have to get up so early in the morning.

Okay, I played the beta of Ravenhearst... I was skeptical, but I loved it! I can't wait for it to come out.
If you haven't done the beta, it's long and pretty fun. I figured out the door puzzle, but just barely! Love those crazy door puzzles. LOL

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
I just watched a short gameplay vid of Maze: Subject 360 (Mad Head Games) and it looks seriously creepy!
I'm not sure if it's coming out this week, BF's Facebook page is not mentioning any new CEs for the week, but somebody replied about this game. I don't know if it was a BF employee or not.
Anyways, it's a Mad Head game so I had to check it out on YT and I will be buying!

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
I had played the beta for Beyond and knew I would buy it. I started playing it--I really am
getting a kick out of the nerdy guy, but have not played beyond the point I did in the
beta. I am a sucker for sci-fi, although I really hope to see some Aliens.
They could take a lesson from the TV Show Falling Skies.
I also recommend Subliminal Realms, I really enjoyed that, you do not need the
CE. I just bought it cause of the sale this past weekend.
I also played beta of Maze: Subject 360. That is a definite buy.
esme--so glad you gave Ravenhurst a try.
genki-that game looks pretty good. To bad I cannot pronounce it, but I will
support it in Greenlight.

I don't know if you all check the Beta thread, but I did post a link to the new Chimeras one.
Yeah, luvto... now I want to play the rest of the game! That is the one thing I hate about a really good beta. LOL
When is that one supposed to come out, DJ? I really could use a seriously creepy game right now!

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
I really don't know, Esme. According to Mad Head's Facebook page...soon, maybe days.
Whomever it was that replied in BF's Previews said the 2 CEs for this week were...
Sea of Lies: Tides of Treachery
Maze: Subject 360
I'm hoping it's true!! I need a scary game, too, and I will play it in the dark. I'm reading bits about it being a "horror" game, Yay!! Oh goodness, maybe I should have a light on.

Oh yes oh yes oh yes!!
Gotta try that one!
Played my first-since-forever demo last night, and thought it slow but not as slow as Midnight Castle. lol. Was the Subliminal one - am a sucker for all games that use paintings.

Re: Dark & Eerie Games Thread
I have to confess that I haven't been playing HOGs lately. It's going to take a really good one to sort of lure me back in right now. I've been playing endless rounds of Slingo Supreme 2 and the new pirate bird and cat one.... Claws and Feathers 2. I got it on a whim and it's cracking me up. Have any of you tried it?
It's fun for something different to play when you need a break from your usual.
