Esme, sorry, I missed this last page.   Rolling Eyes

At bottom of the last page, you said you have so many unplayed games, no clue where to begin.
So as a place to begin, I suggested looking at your unplayed games, and pick the 3rd one.   Smile

What amazed me was, the team who developed Infected, is a really small group of people. So, no bells & whistles, just good gameplay.
(I watched the "making of" video at the end)

Hi DJ & all D&Er's.  I agree about Infected:  The Twin Vaccine.  It's in my top ten games.  I thought it was very realistic & 'can' really happen, but the consequences would be far worse than in the game.  I also loved The Abyss, The Beast of Lycan Isle and so many games I can't name them all.  Next on my 'to play' list is Fall of the New Age; Dangerous Games:  Prisoners of Destiny and Dark Angels:  Masquerade of Shadows.  I'm gonna flip a coin.     Snicker

Hope everyone is staying inside and keeping warm.  It's snowy, windy and bitterly cold here also with more on on the way tonight.     c-cold

No, you're not Rmom... I blame the cold.  Okay I didn't know what list either, which is especially funny since it was about me. I'm just way too lackadaisical about it to be organized enough to actually even have a list.

Right now I'm sort of playing PvZ, but only halfheartedly.  I'm' feeling cooped up and bored, which is a rarity for me. Usually I have a list a mile long of things to do, but right now, none of sounds appealing. Once again, I'll blame the weather!  c-cold

Now see, that's one of the reasons I have all my games installed, complete with pretty icons. I don't write a list, I create a folder of shortcuts, where I can see not only the name but also a hint (sometimes) to jog my memory, of what the game is. I also set up folders based on whether I've done a review on the game, last time I played it, and a bunch of other stuff.

This is my version of genki's list obsession - I just like mine to be pretty!!  Offering Clap Half Flower

You all say obsession like it's a bad thing!   pfft

Here's how bad I am. I decided, after all the suggestions, to try BoC Lonely Hearts and guess what? I had already started it and forgot! Now I'm playing a game where I have no idea what the goal is and what I'm supposed to be doing, but I'm too stubborn to just start over with a new name.  D\\'oh!

Esme, I do that all the time!!! Particularly since I started reviewing. I'd forget I was playing to do a review, and start another game that caught my fancy.

Also, my mum comes over every now and then to play, and I never finish what we started so have all these half-played games.

I'm with genki - just start over! Particularly Boc Lonely Hearts - definitely worth it!

I actually figured out what I was supposed to be doing... mostly dumb luck and lots of experience with these types of games. (If I have a handle in my toolbar, I probably need to find a drawer. If I have a ladder glued to a fire escape (????? are you kidding me?????) I probably need to get it unstuck. Etc.

I'm enjoying it for the most part, but finding the main character's VO voice to be highly annoying. Sort of whiny too. It's distracting to say the least.  Yeah right

lol, I love the voiceovers, that droll bored tone, and as you say, a bit whiny. You get the idea the daughter (is it? I forget, nieces, daughters, sisters, they all seem the same) is of considerably less important than our own reactions to the problem.

LOL droll and bored is exactly right!

The other thing that makes me laugh only applies to me though. The detective guy looks like Anderson from BBC Sherlock. I'm finding that hilarious, so it's affecting my game play.

But yeah... I do think that dad/uncle/grandpa whatever he is, is waayyy over-reacting to everything about the missing chick. Olivia? Anna? Sophia? Whatever her name is...  Overreaction

The Testament of Sherlock Holmes is on sale for $4.99 today! OH!  I hear these are incredible adventure games, and I'm not quite brave enough to try them yet, but I know that some of you are fans.

Hi all  Smile Just crawling from under my rock to say hey & happy 2014.  Testament of Sherlock Holmes for $4.99 is a steal!  I waited a long time for a sale after it was released to get it, but sure didn't get that kind of deal.  I really liked it... but I like just about anything Sherlockian (I don't think that's a legit word  Hmm..., but it'll do).  The story is good, & the play atmosphere was so realistic, it just put me right in it.  I love when that happens  Two thumbs up .  Played Fall of the New Age & Alex Hunter over the last couple days & had a good time with both, 'specially AH - great game!  Also got 2 beta's in 2 days last week - geesh, when does That happen?? - one was "Origins: Elders of Time" by BlooBuzz.  I was so unimpressed that I threw out my notes & can't even tell you what it was about , due to either CSR or apathy.  The most I recall was forcing myself to play til almost the end of the demo, at which point it totally froze, ticked me off, & I trashed it.  My state of mind by the end probably colored my review, maybe unfairly, so I won't say it sucked.  But my thoughts about it did  faceplant    The other was "Haunted Camp: Evil Games" by Top Evidence Studios.  This one I liked quite a lot & will buy upon release without hesitation.  Like most stories, it's been seen before: kids at camp, evil is afoot, & you embark on a search & rescue.  But it's real positive for Creep Factor, grabbed me right off the bat with a great cutscene, & there's lot's to do.  I won't spoil it with a lot of info, but if the game holds up to the beta, I think D&E fans will have something to look forward to. Pretty sure this dev did the Haunted Manor Lord of Mirrors games, which I liked when they came out.  This one, imho, beats them by a long shot, but then, games have gotten better in general since then. So i'm catching up on my games, trying to balance old & new, & generally gaming my brains out.  What a way to go! Btw, JusttheFacts, I just wanna say your reviews are awesome!  Thanks for all your work; I for one really rely on your excellent analysis. I've been reading a little in the bfg pseudo-forums again, & wow, some people get awfully snippy these days.  I hope the meanies don't try to side-swiped you like they have some other good reviewers. There's a weird, uncomfortable vibe going on there & I hope it wears itself out soon. Ok, gee, I got awfully chatty  Embarrassed  Back to my rock ...

    Hi jessmom

Thanks for the compliment - always appreciated!  Heart

I agree the forums were getting really bad - I had my run ins with some of the nastier ones. But survived. These days a couple of my pals are lifting the mood by chatty little nothings, and bfg are no longer censoring these unless they go really way off-topic. I think it'll be better eventually, and though aren't many reviewers yet, I think we're getting a few more good ones in.

I'm a bit of a Pollyanna when it comes to Big Fish, changed my whole lifestyle to something very positive for me, so I never want to believe anything bad about them!  Whoop whoop

Nice to see both Butterfly and Jessmom popping in! Sunny*wavies*

This looks like a nice creepy adventure

and it's on sale for $4.49 via Daily Royale for the next few days.  I was pleasantly surprised to get a DRM-free copy in addition to my Steam key when I bought Nihilumbra the other day, so maybe it's their common practice!  One can hope! Big smile
