Starlight shimmers across this egg’s iridescent shell.
It almost looks like there are claw marks on this egg.

This plain blue egg almost seems to float.
This egg reminds you of the night sky.

You hear a soft melody as you approach this egg.
"Soft melody" eggs are in Coast and Jungle.
This egg shakes slightly when taken out of the light.
"Shakes slightly" is in Forest.

Dead leaves obscure this egg’s scratched shell.

Holiday Dragon (2015)
Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
For reasons nobody quite knows, this fellow's name has been scratched out in all records. Townspeople and nearby dragons call him Fuad. When he's feeling up for some merrymaking, he'll join the friendly humans and dragons to celebrate their gift-giving and togetherness holidays. He also has a curious tradition of his own that has become the town's tradition, mostly out of an assumption that this is an important thing for him to do. Late at night on Christmas eve, he visits and beckons to all unmated young women - humans and dragons - and leads them outside. He keeps them in a group by circling around and keeping strays from wandering, though of course they can go home if they wish. When the sun appears at the horizon and all of the diurnal townsfolk begin to wake, he slowly escorts all of the ladies to the town square. Few people try to stop him from completing this ritual, but if someone unfamiliar with it asks Fuad what he's up to, he'll answer, "I herd the belles on Christmas Day".

2020-12-19 - Holiday Event Begins

Holiday Dragon Breeding
Past holiday dragons are breedable from now until December 25 at 23:59 EST. During this time, past holiday dragons will be able to produce eggs of their breed, and have the potential for breeding multiple eggs (though you will only be able to keep one per pairing). This is unchanged from previous years.
The special Holiday biome will again be available during the same time period (ending December 25 at 23:59 EST). In this biome, past holiday eggs will be available. Past limits on cave-based Holiday eggs still apply (the breed limits help page is updated with Holiday dragons during this time to help clarify).
New Holiday Dragon
A new holiday dragon will be available starting at 00:00 EST on December 25. It will drop for exactly three days (ending on December 27 at 23:59 EST); after this time it will no longer be available from the cave. There will be a limit of two of these eggs from the cave.
Holiday Event
This year's holiday event will begin at 12/25 at 00:00 EST (the same time as the new dragon). The Advent Calendar from last year will make a return, with a new event launching from the first door. The event will run for two weeks. The Advent Calendar will have a daily candy limit like last year, but you shouldn't miss out if you have to skip a few days.

2020-12-25 - Happy Holidays!
By TJ09, 1 hour ago in News
As promised, the Advent Calendar is back! Just like last year, games and decorating events will unlock daily. For the next nine days, visit the calendar and open the doors to see what’s inside. Play games from years past to earn candy, and use that candy for new unlocks.
On top of that, we've brought you a brand new decorating event—cookie decorating! Cover your cookies with colorful frosting and sprinkles and then send them to others. Cookie decorating is the first unlock from the advent calendar, so go check it out.
The event will be around for a full two weeks (until January 07 at 23:59 EST)—and you can open past days’ advent doors at any time—so there's plenty of opportunity to keep up if you’re busy this time of year.
A new holiday dragon is also available, starting now. It will drop all over the cave for the next three days, until December 27 at 23:59 EST. After that, they’re gone until next year.
Have fun sending and receiving cookies, and Happy Holidays!

For everyone's knowledge, the other new egg is a hybrid! Guardian x Royal Crimson!

Thanks for this! I tried it and got the hybrid egg!
The hybrid sorts between Nilia and Nocturnes.
'Something about this egg seems to lure you in."
Dropping in Coast, Jungle, and Volcano - Sorts between Canopy and Carina Dragons
"This tough egg has a protective ridge down its shell" - Guardian x Royal Crimson

- Use of Breed Specific Actions affects color variant. Color is determined by the most recent action performed on an egg. Use of another color-changing action will overwrite the effects of previous actions.
Default. No color-changing actions performed.
Precognition. | |
Teleport. The teleport must be completed for the color change to take effect, simply initializing a trade will not affect color.

Precog = blue
Incubate = red
Teleport = orange
You can do several things to an egg but the colour will be decided by the LAST thing you do.

2021-02-14 - Happy Valentine's Day!
By TJ09, 1 minute ago in News
These new Valentine’s Day eggs have just hit the cave. You have three full days to grab them, so make sure to get your fill (the limit is 2) before they leave on February 16 at 11:59.
For 2021’s event, we've got a series of new stories for you to enjoy. Take on the role of a mage and solve everyone’s troubles. Every day for the full seven days, a new set of stories will unlock. Each story can be solved in multiple ways by combining mana to cast spells.

The following breeds have received a sprite update:
Magi Dragon
Thunder Dragon
Lacula Dragon
Sakuhana Wyvern (2019 Valentine's)
2016 Holiday Dragon
Sprite updates are not undertaken lightly, and are always done with an eye towards preserving the feel of the sprite as well as its appearance in lineages. Updates are typically done for older sprites to improve anatomy, fix shading issues, and bring them more in line with the ever-increasing standards set by newer sprites.
We hope you enjoy these improvements. I'm personally pretty excited to see the updates available to everyone, especially the new Magis (one of my own favorite breeds).

I put together some quick GIFs to show off the differences, in case anyone was still wondering:

2021-03-14 - Festival of Eggs Submissions
By TJ09, 23 hours ago in News
Posted 23 hours ago
We've been opening up submissions for the annual Festival of Eggs and the Halloween Trick-or-Treat events to community submissions for some time now. Both events have been receiving a lot interest, so we're continuing the process this year.
All submissions must be sent via PM to @Event Art Submissions. The deadline for submissions is March 31.
Here's some base guidelines:
The egg is the main theme, so you must be able to see the egg in the sprite.
Size limit of 50x50px.
Images must be submitted in PNG or GIF form.
Eggs must be pixel art, which generally means that overall color count is limited and pixels are intentionally placed. Do not use filters or anti-aliased tools such as Photoshop's paint brush.
Eggs may be animated, but should not use rapid or flashing effects. Animated PNGs are allowed, but your mileage may vary. The first frame of animation should be identifiable, to accommodate situations where animations are disabled.
Semi-transparency is allowed.
Images must not be shared publicly before the event begins.
Eggs may be rejected for reasons other than those in this post—namely, there will be a general quality bar. We'll try to provide useful feedback around rejections.
Only one submission will be accepted per-person.
There are a limited number of spots available. Art will be accepted on a first come, first served basis which only applies when the art is deemed to meet all of the above guidelines (that is, if you need to make changes and resubmit, that bumps you to the back of the line).
