over the course of my life .. I have seen horrible things

    some in nursing ...

but if I live to be 100

    I can NEVER unsee

Mr. George Floyd being squished to death like a bug

by a cop  ...   who does not deserve to be named  ...

who pressed his knee against this man's neck for over 9 minutes

while Mr Floyd screamed he could not breathe .. and even called out for his mother

as other cops looked on and did nothing

and bystanders pleas to stop were ignored

his death will forever be seared into my brain

as are his unanswered, ignored cries for help  ... " I CAN'T BREATHE "

I couldn't watch it, knowing that I'd be watching a man die.  Whatever his crime was, he deserved due process, not an execution.  That man is a murderer, plain and simple, and should be tried as such.  Bad cops exist, and he's one of them.

... but let's not forget that for every bad cop, there are a hundred cops that do the right thing.  It's not right to hold all police officers responsible (although the ones who watched need to be tried as accessories.)

Protesting is OK.  Rioting, violence and looting are not.  Period.  There is no justice in destruction.

when it first aired .. there was no disclaimer

I make myself watch it now

the point of my piece was clear .. this happens far too often

but for phone cameras ... this would have been misreported as well

as it has been for months, years, decades, generations

    systemic racism exists

"Protest is the language of the unheard."

I am tired of peaceful protests being undermined by  "others".

by undermining the peaceful protests ..

    they change the narrative ...

and put the focus on the looting etc not THE REASON FOR THE PROTESTS.

the unrest is real, the pain is real

changing the narrative has long been a tactic by the others

most of the riot like behaviour is NOT by the legitimate protesters

but their actions ( the others ) escalate what was a peaceful start and protest

and the REAL message gets lost
