Bax (Brick-breaker)
Brick-breaking in its simplest form.
When I first tried this, the ball moved
excruciatingly-slowly. THIS HAS BEEN UPDATED! The ball now moves at a normal speed!
The concept is easy enough. You have a paddle and a ball, keep the ball from leaving the screen and break all of the bricks to pass the level. That's really all there is to it. No power-ups, no scoring system, one type of brick... Sure, the brick color changes now and then, but they're all one-hit-and-done.
There are a total of 50 levels and 100 achievements. You'll see five nice backgrounds across those levels, but it doesn't really feel all that space-themed (except for the first background, that is.) The bouncing SFX is perfect, and the background ambient (I can't call it music) was non-remarkable.
You have one ball, and if you lose it, you have to start the level over again, but you don't have to start over from the beginning - just that one level.
This game would be perfect for someone who wants to practice their tracking skills. If you're looking for an interestingly-fun brick-breaker, try
Grey Cubes or
DX-ball 2. If you'd like a straightforward and relaxing hour + of brick-breaking - or easy achievements to decorate your profile with - I recommend giving this one a try.
