This section is for those who prefer and/or enjoy the games that are more light-hearted.  It's been pretty quiet in here since the forum started (coming up on two years ago Snicker,) but now that we have more posting members, maybe it's time to start talking about those bright and cheery and non-creepy games! Sunny

djrum just nominated a newish game, so I'm making sure to add that one, but I'll need help to flesh this list out!  I can only add a few from memory!

    Adventures / HOG's / IHOG's

    • Awakening series
    • Barn Yarn
    • Big City Adventure series (straight HOG's)
    • Christmas Stories: Nutcracker
    • Christmas Wonderland series (straight HOG's)
    • The Clockwork Man series (beautiful, especially the second one)
    • Columbus: Ghost of the Mystery Stone
    • Crossworlds: The Flying City
    • Dark Parables series (FROG's)
    • Dream Day series (IHOG-lites)
    • Dream Inn: Driftwood
    • Easter Eggstravaganza (straight HOG)
    • Fearful Tales: Hansel & Gretel
    • Finding Hope (not bright and cheery in the slightest, but a touching TRUE story)
    • Gardenscapes series
    • Journey: The Heart of Gaia
    • Love Story series
    • Matchmaker series
    • Mushroom Age
    • Nearwood
    • Nora Roberts: Vision in White
    • Reveries: Sisterly Love
    • Spirits of Mystery series (?)
    • Tales of Lagoona: Orphans of the Ocean
    • Tulula: Legend of a Volcano

    I don't buy a lot of B&Cs, but let's see:

~Botanica: Into the Unknown (I didn't finish it yet but it seemed B&C)
    ~Dream Chronicles series
    ~Tiny Bang Story
    ~City of Fools
    ~Snark Busters 1 and 2 (3 was crap so I didn't buy it but it's B&C too)
    ~Shaban
~Royal Trouble (short, easy adventure that's cute)
    ~Robin's Quest: A Legend Born
    ~Enlightenus series
~Margrave: Blacksmith's Daughter (thought I'd hate but I *LOVE* it; prob other Margrave but I haven't played)
~Empress of the Deep series (fairly B&C)
    ~Emerald City Confidential
    ~Brunhilda and the Dark Crystal

ETA - How could I forget Robinson Crusoe and the Cursed Pirates? Happy bounce

Nice!  Thanks for the additions!  MM: Curse of the Severed Heart was excellent to me, and is more D&E than Blacksmith's Daughter was.

I also remember liking A Gypsy's Tale years ago, which is a tiny bit D&E but mostly light fantasy taking place in a forest.

Oh I didn't know Severed Heart was D&E. I beta'd it a long time ago and just remember lots of squeaky little voices, lol. What I played didn't captivate me like Blacksmith's Daughter but I didn't realize it was a darker story.

I'm playing Reveries: Sisterly Love right now, and holy cow!!  Bright & Cheery in the extreme, there's no doubt, but I surely did not expect one of the characters to suddenly burst into a song that would even make the people at Disney proud! Huh?  I actually am really enjoying the game, but to say I was a bit surprised would be an understatement!

On the bright side Smile I have enjoyed very much these games:

    - Dream Day Wedding series (the first ones look a little outdated now but from "Married in Manhattan" on they are still quite modern and very enjoyable)
    - Dream Inn - Driftwood (this one was a little jewel for me)
    - Tales of Lagoona - Orphans of the ocean
    - Mary Kay Andrews - The fixer upper
    - Renovate & Relocate series (these one are a little dull for the hog scenes but great for the renovation part)

When the first HOGS started to come out I liked the dark&eerie most, but now they have made so many that I'm tired of them. Now I prefer the bright&cheery games, which unfortunately are quite rare lately....

Looks like we're not having much luck with the new releases...

Btw I've remembered another great game I've played quite some time ago, it was called "Dream Mysteries: Case of the Red Fox". It's a bit old maybe but at the time I did find it really amazing Okay

I don't buy much Bright & Cheery games, but what about The Last Dream?
It's a touching love story, with a little cat helper.
BFG has the standard version, and GameHouse has the Collector's edition.  Smile
