    syberia? Empty syberia?

Post by jeanniemouse Tue Feb 28, 2012 6:49 pm

I'm posting this in the D&E thread as a warning since I know many of my D&E friends love these games. I personally picked up Syberia awhile back, meaning to play it, just haven't gotten around to doing it yet. But after missing from BFG for a few days, "Syberia Part 1" came out as a TGT and the announcement was made that the game is being broken down into a triplicate set. Naturally there is much wailing and ghashing of teeth about this. At least those of us who bought the whole thing as one chunk still have access to our game through our game history.

Now the question: There is a "Syberia II" that's been out there awhile. I thought it was a sequel and was going to buy it when I finished part I (assuming I ever did!). But now I'm wondering if this is an actual sequal, or is the earlier relased "Part II" of the "Part I" that good released sooner than the first part, heaven knows why... Stars

And after writing THAT sentence I have to go lie down!

But seriously: if Syberia II, is a true sequel to the TOTAL first Syberia game, I want to use a credit and snatch it up while I still can. I'm just trying to keep from being ripped off. Any advice?

Syberia "Part 1" is the first Syberia game, which BF has now hacked into three separate parts. Part 2 and Part 3 will all be the same Syberia 1 game cut into parts.

Syberia 2 is the sequel to the first Syberia. I recommend getting Syberia 2 before they "upgrade" it (hack it into parts), or better yet, get it from GOG (Good Old Games). It's DRM-free at their place, and about the same price!

I got a Syberia 1&2 combined disk from Fred Meyer's, myself. It's usually $9.99, but I got it for 1/2 off, so I got both complete games for $4.99, and with no need to download anything! Big smile

Yes, Jeannie, grab it while you still can. I'm sure they will split it as well.

Got mine at Fred Meyers for $4.99 also, Genki. (Includes 1 and 2.)

Also picked up a couple of the Sherlock Holmes LFAG and a couple others.

They are now MINE, MINE, MINE and no one can mess with them!!!!!

Jeanniemouse,By all means get Syberia 2 if you have 1. Beautiful game, beautiful story. But without Syberia 2, you are left in the middle of the tale. (Plus, IMHO, Syberia 2 is even better than 1!)
