Moral Turpitude ,The Presidential Election and me

Post by orphaned on Fri Oct 14, 2016 10:33 am

Moral turpitude is a legal concept in the United States and some other countries

that refers to "conduct that is considered contrary to community standards

of justice, honesty or good morals

This term appears in U.S. immigration law beginning in the 19th century.

    Need I say more ???

    Apparently so ...

If Donald Trump were to apply for citizenship, based on his past actions, he would be denied.

Yet some still feel he is an able and worthy presidential candidate.   Hmm...

Like many of the women currently coming forward, I too have been silent.

    Until now ...

I worked for a man of the same ilk (YUCK) as Trump ... in fact, they even look and sound very similar.

    And so were their actions.

However, I can only speak to my experience.

Something I thought was safely buried in memory.

But recent news coverage has brought it all back ... like a storm surge  .. to the surface.

I thought my increasingly ill tempered mood was due to the constant lies and problems caused by the builder

of an oversized house being constructed next door.  The ongoing  damage to my property, the excessive noise,

their starting and ending past legal hours.  And much, much more ....   Cry

As an RN, I used to work in research at a prestigious Toronto hospital, a job I enjoyed for years until the Big Boss,

whom I shall call Mr. B, started showing up more regularly.

My immediate superior was a lovely woman with whom I worked almost all the time ... and it was good.

He was a crude, lewd giant bear of a man ..

always making inappropriate and suggestive comments ... then laughing it off as he was only kidding.     Yeah right

Making it appear that it was YOUR problem for being so sensitive.

After being exposed to his slimy speech ...

being groped and touched way too many times .... he was a grinder ..

I had enough and reported him to HR.

    LSS

I ended up leaving as he made working there even worse than it had been....

Plus, being of the same vindictive personality type as Trump, he tried to have me blackballed from other research facilities.

Unsuccessfully .. as his  lecherous reputation was known.

AND THAT IS WHY, AS WOMEN, WE SAY NOTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What makes me saddest of all ...

my ex will vote for this man in spite of what he has done in favour of what he may be able to do if successful ...

will give him the benefit of the doubt ... ( as if there ARE  any !!!!!!!! )

yet he dismissed me and has refused all contact for something said in innocence in response to HIS raunchy poem.

    MEN !!!

    double  ( and low )  standards  ...

I probably will .... now !!!   Whistle Belly laugh

So, someone posted a map showing what would happen if only men voted. tRump would win. And immediately a group of people suggested repeal of the 19th Amendment. Someone even posted "I would be willing to give up my right to vote to make this happen" The basket of deplorables comment makes more and more sense as we go along.

I honestly just want it to be over with already. Both candidates are highly questionable (one more than the other, of course, and I don't even have to name names) and I think my dog would be better than either of them. How messed up are we as a country that we end up with these two? I want to slap both of them, but I only want to send one to Mars and hope they never find their way back.

So sorry for what you went through orphaned.  I'm afraid that has happened many more times that we know.  I am sick to death of this election.  I am embarrassed for my country.  We've got to make it easier for people to run for office.

prismatika, totally agree...... just such a mess and will continue to be for at least 4 years regardless of who is elected.

    thanks so much, volnole68   Hug

even though it happened years ago, was dealt with and (I thought) forgotten ..

this nastiness with The Donald had me all churned up again,  until I realized what was really bothering me.

Half my family is American ... all GOP.

It used to be my personal mission and joy to rag them about politics  ...

Have said NOTHING this year  ... no way, no how.

I do have a feeling that ... one way or another ... Canada's population may increase

    dramatically

    in December ..

I can't believe that the two front runners for office are BOTH so unpopular!

@orphaned: Batman says "Woof!" (Translated: Thank you!)

@volnole68: Exactly. I have a feeling the next four years are going to be ridiculous, and so help us if the yahoo gets a second term.
