I made a new recipe tonight and though I try new stuff frequently, I don't usually get too worked up about it- especially if my meat and potatoes husband isn't thrilled with it. Tonight's recipe (well, my adaptation of it anyway) was surprisingly yummy.

Here's the original recipe link http://homeiswheretheholmansare.blogspot.com/2010/06/spicy-hawaiian-burgers.html

I altered it by toning down the spices. I'm not a super spicy food fan. I also halved the recipe for two of us.

    Here's what I did basically:

    1 pound ground chicken
    I clove garlic, minced
A few big splashes of soy sauce
1/4 tsp. smoked paprika (I love smoked paprika. If you haven't tried it, I recommend it)
    1/8 tsp. red pepper
    1/8-1/4 tsp. cumin
salt to taste (I couldn't find my seasoned salt, so I just used regular)
    fresh pineapple chunks
    Provolone cheese- sliced
    Whole wheat slider buns

I mixed all the meat and seasonings. Fired up my grill pan. Brushed the grill pan with oil. Threw on the pineapple chunks and formed tiny slider burgers and tossed them on too. Grilled them. Flipped and grilled some more. In the last few minutes, I put some Provolone on the burgers until it melted. Plopped a slider and a pineapple chunk on each bun (which I'd covered with a thin layer of mayo) and voila! Dinner!

I could see adding a slice of pickle or some avocado slices if you like. The recipe calls for pepper jack cheese, which I dislike, so I subbed in a cheese I do like.

Hubs and I both loved these, and they were really moist, unlike a lot of chicken burgers.
