OK, this has gone far enough.  I've been buying games like there's no tomorrow, and now I'm even trying to get OTHER people to buy games so that I'll have an excuse to buy it, myself... You know, so I can play it "with" them. Whistle

No no, bad Genki!  Mutual enablement is bad.  Baaaad!

But it's so much fun! Evil Grin

Deep breaths.  In.  Out.  In.  Out.  Resist the temptation, resist the...

Ooo, shiny new game, and it's on SALE! Support for Gaming Addictions! 15_9_27

Nooooo~!!  La la la!  Must resist, must...

OK, so I can't resist a good sale.  Well, maybe I can.  Maybe... *waffle, waffle*  So far I've held out on Anna, and I'm definitely not buying Tales of Monkey Island right now.  It will be on sale again, and I have so many other games to play that I know I can wait for that to-be-determined sale to come up.

On the plus side, I plan to play all of the games I've purchased recently within the next few months, so they're not just going to sit languishing on my hard drive for years like soooo many of my Big Fish games Rolling Eyes

Anna looks amazing, but I don't recommend you buy it, unless you have the EXACT requirements stated on GamersGate.
I still can't get it to work, and I suspect it's because I have Windows 7, not XP.   Rolling Eyes

    Otherwise...

Give in to temptation...   Evil Grin

Man! I was thinking, in a moment of uncharacteristic 'holier than thou'ness, that I'd explain to genki that the secret to not buying more games - something I have sworn to for the month of March - is to not open those newsletters, and hide from big fish.  Old Days

As I noted the gog.com email in my inbox, I reached for the delete button but 'accidentally' missed it and hit the open button instead. I swear, I had no intention of looking at it!  Oops!

And what do I find, staring at me like some kind of madman's miracle - Summoner!!!! The ONLY game other than its sequel I ever bothered playing on PS2, which I bought solely to play them. But my copy of Summoner had died, and no more PS2 games on the market (took me months to track down the first copy), and so I was doomed to only being able to play Summoner 2, which is the better game admittedly, still.

Never occurred to me the game might come out on different platforms!!!  Happy bounce Happy bounce Happy bounce

So, it's not yet March by PST, which I tend to think in, even tho I'm 16hrs ahead of it, so, I haven't actually broken my vow. Technically. Not really. Can still be virtuous for a whole month - course I can, lol Belly laugh

Am seriously happy to get this fun rpg adventure and cant wait to play it again! Will put me in a better frame of mind to go on to other adventure games, too. Mind you, if it takes 30-40 game hours, like before on the PS2, it is gonna be a long time to the finish. Definitely NOT a casual game!

Okay, now we all know I was very good at the start of this month, and only bought those last couple of games because it was technically still February, at least where genki was (and considering the large portion she shares of the responsibility for my game addiction, why not?).

So. I've been really good this first 10 days of March. Really strong-willed and controlled. There was True Fear, but nobody would hold that against me, right?

So, I've bought none of those naughty humble bundles, refused to look at genki's "games, games, games" thread, and been the soul of genteel restraint.

So I have only bought 10 games so far this month!  Belly laugh Rolling Eyes Belly laugh  Embarrassed

    SOS!

I need help!! Is there, like, a gaming addicts "gaming anonymous" or something? Maybe game sites should be compelled to advertise helplines like casinos etc. have to advertise gambling help lines here in Australia. I gotta figure out something! Got 38 HOPAs I haven't played, all bought in the last year. Plus 30 adventurous large file stuff, which is strictly  da blame genki's fault.  Plus 30 betas still to try. Plus 100+ games that need replaying before I can do their reviews!

    Help! Somebody make it stop!

lol~ I SO know what you mean.  Even though I have no time to play my games right now (won't really be able to attend to them until June! EEK!  ) I still want to BUY games!  I only talked myself out of Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (on sale at GOG today Whistle  ) because reviewers say that the interface is soooo clunky!  It will be on sale again, I can wait.

Still, I keep looking at the indie bundles, hoping to see something on my wishlist, even though I know I won't be able to play them for a while!

Crikey! I am never going to keep up with all these betas! No, haven't got to that one yet. Am trying to do these in order of date issued (beta that is) in the hope that it's a reasonable indicator of release date. But I am just not doing enough of them lately. Not functioning at my best at the moment, so very few reviews. *sigh* Hope to get back to normal soon. HATE not being on top of things lol  Laugh

Isn't there a Gamers Anonymous out there somewhere? If not, we should start one.  Whistle
Real life has intervened with a fury and I haven't been able to play nearly as much as in the past. I am so behind with things to be done, and I am so behind in playing the games I already own.  Shock I simply can NOT buy any more games for a long while, so I'm with you.

Luckily, with a couple of exceptions I'm just not into the games being released lately. BFG's stuff has had a been there/done that feel to it for a long time. I just can't wade through any more junk piles of feathers and horse shoes while solving pipe puzzles to turn on/off the water/electricity on a search for my lost/kidnapped client-grandfather-boyfriend-brother scenarios. <whew> And it's not that the new games aren't good, but seriously, when you own hundreds already how many more variations and permutations do you need?  OH!

Of course I reserve the right to buy extraordinary games, of which True Fear was one.  Wink

Yes, that is exactly what I tell myself - usually just before I hit the buy button!  Belly laugh

I do agree though that there is no real point to the constant buying. Working on what I already have, it would take roughly 2 years to play all of them once only. Let alone all the betas and demos I play.
