I'm sad that it's ending, too, Fuzzball, but I'm happy to see you here
When FaunaSphere ended almost two years ago, there was a mass migration to Glitch. Now that Glitch is ending, I'm sure something else will come up... It's just a matter of waiting to see what it is!

I never got involved with Glitch or Faunasphere, but I'm glad you found this site, fuzzbuzz, genki's steered me to some great games here.

ok Genki you talked me into it, signed up and everything. You may regret it, you already know how I tend to be long winded lol. Anyhoo's, new to the crew. Will scout around and see what moves me to comment on. Laters ya'lls!

Hi, Scarlette, this is a great place, I think. And please call me Sable, the whole thing is just too cumbersome. Wish I had realized how many times I'd be using my moniker,

Hello everyone. I'm Hespera and I'm new here (Thank you, genki, for the invite). Some of you may have known my Mom, textrekkie. (I know genki did).
I'll try and give you a brief synopsis of who I am and what's been up with me. I'm almost 25, and until December of last year, I've been a student for 19 years (hard to believe, I know) and I've never had a job. (Makes me sound rather like a bum, doesn't it?) But I was working on my doctorate in Molecular Biology (my Masters is in Micro Biology) when Mom got sick and passed away. Then we moved from way down in South Texas up to Central Texas into the family house. (Did I mention I'm married with 2 children? Liza just turned 3 and Jack will be 1 this week.) We had to do extensive remodeling because a large portion of the house had been converted to a handicapped suite for my grandmother (and I really needed bedrooms for the kids). And we built an apartment over the garage for Dad (he was coming for dinner every night anyway and he wouldn't change his mailing address). During the course of the remodeling, I decided to push some interior work along and fell from the top of a 12 foot ladder, bounced around between the dining table and sideboard, and messed myself up pretty good. So I'm just now coming off the injured reserved list.
Anyway, I don't know many people. I had posted a little bit on Big Fish Forums, but mostly I've been trying to play games at Challengers. I'm looking forward to meeting some new people here.
Right now I enjoy reading, gaming and I'm learning how to cook (something other than fajitas, anyway).

Re: Hi to all I'm new here..
Hi Hespera, I knew and admired your Mom for ages over at Big Fish, and my condolences on her passing, she was a great lady.
I was known (or maybe not, lol) as Sablesshadow over there, and Genki graciously let me truncate my name, since its such a mouthful.
Glad to see you here, and I hope you recover soon from your "fall down, go boom" moment.

Hi there, Hespera, I also knew your mom. She was a great lady and we all felt her loss. I haven't spent much time at Big Fish, so you may not have seen me there. I hope that you recover fully from you fall. I'm an Army wife, as the name implies, with three children ages 14, soon to be 10, and 5. And yes, the man in my avatar is my husband.

Re: Hi to all I'm new here..
Hi Hespera and Welcome to the crew!
I'm fairly new to the crew here too, and a bit of a lurker at BF. Can't say I had the honor of knowing ur Mum. But I look forward to getting to know you and every1 here.
I am a mother of 3 sons, ages 25, 19 and 18. Seems like yesterday they were wee ones like yours. And I can also empathize with recovering from a bad injury. I've had 9 surgeries to rebuild my left hip and right knee after a 60 foot fall from the flys (thats the bars in the ceiling over the theater stage and seats that lights are hung from) when my defective safety harness broke and didn't catch me when one of my apprentices, (who didn't follow my orders) knocked me off the cherry picker (hydrolic lift platform). Landed in the seats like a twisted pretzel. After 7 years of surgeries and phystherp I'm walking again, now with only a cane instead of walker. Stage hands union is letting me take early retirement instead of going back to work since cant climb ladders, scaffolds and stairs anymore.
So if need a friendly empathetic ear about aching body parts that don't work like they used to, or primal scream therapy when the kids make you crazy, consider my door always open for you. (Btw did I mention I'm a Native American Medicine Woman, licensed and ordained clergy with certifications in family and grief counseling?)

Most of us are usually over at the Dark and Eerie thread. It was started by jeanniemouse 2 years
ago over at BF. Thanks to genki, we have here to come to.
I live in Upstate New York. My kids are also grown. I live with my one daughter-we split expenses.
I hope you come back and post some more. You do sound interesting

I'm glad you found your way back, Scarlette!
I now wish that I had been more proactive about asking people's permission to post their words here. All that creativity lost... :(

Re: Hi to all I'm new here..
Hi everyone, I just joined too. Thanks for the invite genkicoll.
I live in the boonies of No. TX among the cows & horses. My kids are all grown & I have one six year old granddaughter that's a handful. If I'm not playing games I'm writing a family history saga. Twenty years ago I got sucked into my husband's family history when his mother passed away & left me the family records. I've since become a genealogist. Now I'm writing a fiction novel based on that. And in my spare time I...wait a minute, what spare time.
I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all.

Re: Hi to all I'm new here..
I'm sorry and hope you all don't think I was being rude for not answering. But my Dad did something to our network/internet that really hosed things for my PC. And we were in the last two days of a challenge over yonder at Gove's, so you can imagine the chaos when I couldn't get any of my screen shots downloaded.
Anyway, GI and Sable - thanks for telling me you knew Mom. I always like to know her friends. It makes me feel special. Justgaming and Scarlette - thank you for the welcomes, too! I'm looking forward to talking about games and developers. Mom knew so much more about both than me, and I reckon I need to learn. But the developers I've met so for have been really, really nice (BoomZap and Awem).
