Magus: In Search of Adventure is a static platform game. What I mean is that there are screens with platforms for you to navigate, and that the game does not scroll from side to side.

This platformer is made in the classic Lode Runner style - collect gems, avoid enemies and solve "puzzles" to collect the gems before you get caught. Dig holes to jump through to the platform below or to catch your enemies. Beware, for the ground will close back over, costing you a life (or your enemies'!) Unlike the original games of this style, though, your enemies will not disappear unless you stand on their heads to keep them in place until the ground closes over - these monsters can climb out of the holes! They do not stay on their platforms, they will follow you and chase you down. Muwahahahaha This is part of where the strategy comes in. The other part is working out how to get to the jewels in odd areas. You may have to dig your way to the gems, but if you don't plan well, you'll get stuck in the ground and lose a life.

Also unlike most games of this type, when you lose all of your lives, you don't have to start over at the beginning! You will return to the same area of the map when you start the game again. Bonus!

Cute platformer! If you like this kind of game, give it a try
